Thought I'd chance it and ask on here... :)

My dad's VW Sharan (2005 TDi SE) was parked on a slope the other day, (driver's side front being the lowest point) it was raining, next thing he came back into the car after a couple of hours, the driver's footwell was soaked!...

Door seems fine, checked around the pedals / bulkhead, seems fine as far's I'm concerned. Any ideas!?

Edit: Passenger side's dry, and all door seem water tight.

I'm not sure, funny how you mention that actually, I've been burrowing around for the heater matrix etc. Worth taking off the wipers / scuttle panel to check the drainage holes etc?

I was just thinking it's possible the Pollen filter isn't located right, and then would leak

Any ideas? Blocked drainage holes? It seems to be ok on the flat, its just that time it was parked on a slope, and a fair amount came in! It's water logged lol

Original windscreen since new. Has developed some slight surface rust between the roof / seals and top of windscreen... Might've rotted further underneath? Hmmm, but for a 6yr old car?!

you don't need to take off wipers or scuttle panel to check drainage holes - they are located just by the bonnet hinges. Because of the way the car was parked the water could have come in from anywhere and just settled in the drivers footwell as that was the lowest point. I have seen water come in through the bottom door seal (front corner ) when parked at strange angles and the doors are not the tightest fitting things at the top edges either.

I'll have a look then mate! I know, the doors are riddled with seals, about 3-4 on each. And I was thinking that too, parked as it was, it could've come in any where!
