I use the tread on the Spanish forum try G translate, there is lot of info.
Pins on the qudralock - Channels:
in case 8 speakers (PR code 8RM)
1,5 - rear right door
2,6 - front right tweeter
3,7 - front left tweeter
4,8 - rear left door
9,13 - front right door woofer
10,14 - front left door woofer

in case 10 speakers - Seat Sound (PR code 9VD)
1,5 - rear right door
2,6 - front right door
3,7 - front left door
4,8 - ear left door
9,13 - subwoofer
10,14 - center speaker

So only making the connection without activating Seat Sound will make the sound worse.

So after downloading the correct zdc file for my unit, with a genuine vcp cable at a VW specialist shop, everything worked fine. Also the subwoofer setting appeared after the zdc file download.

So here's another one who completed the retrofit coding. It seems that my MIB2 STD NAVI (5F0035877) can actually accept .zdc files from earlier MIB versions and work properly although it was never opted with the SSS from the factory.

Massive difference with the system properly coded. You lose a tiny bit of power but you definately gain a much richer and correct sound.

Here are some photos with the VCDS coding options that must be selected. Unfortunately I do not own a VCP but you can find instruction in here for that too.

If you have extra powerful OCD here's how you mount the SSS badge. A 5mm drill is all you need and by no means you need to take off the door panels as advised by the workshop manual. The badge should stuck really well if the holes are drilled properly.

Which file did you use to get this working? I have a MY20 which never came with SSS but trying to install it, PM me If needed

You can use any .zdc file for MIB2 according to your vehicle's type (hatchback or ST).

If I'm not mistaken what we used on mine was 5F0035846_sound_parameters_hatchback.zdc or something like that. I bet same files for 5F0035020 or 5F0035824 should also work fine. Since the speaker wiring has been the same from 2013 to 2020 I presume that any .zdc file with SSS parameters should be ok. It's up to your VCP version which files you will find.

I finally got round to retrofitting Seat Sound to my car, I have MIB2 High unit which had the PR-9VD option added about a year ago!
I followed the guide from the Spanish forum but I'm sure I found a few errors in the wiring instructions, I have amended the PDF text in Red where I think it is wrong, I also attach the Seat diagrams for the front speaker wiring with the standard PR-8RM system (8 speakers) and the diagram for the centre speaker wiring for Seat Sound PR-9VD, if you look carefully at the PR-8RM diagram you will see that the colours of the wires from the front left Bass (door) speaker change on route to the quadlock pins, which IMO is mad! I checked to make sure that this is correct on the car and it was. I also as a temporary try-out fitted an unused Bass tube that I've had for many years. Figured I would share my experience of re-enabling SEAT Sound after upgrading from MIB1 to MIB2 which broke the subwoofer and front door speakers

Unit wasn't coded correctly for SEAT Sound, so this thread lead me to VCP and zdc files
Decided to splash out on a genuine VCP cable to make sure I didn't break anything further and also to get the zdc files

Following the coding instructions in this post did not work for me, kept getting out of range errors when trying to write the zdc file.

Part number of my MIB2 unit is 5QA035858
The ZDC file used was leon_soundsettings_5qa035846.zdc

I WILL NOT PROVIDE THIS FILE - VCP is an expensive and powerful tool, buy the legit software yourself or pay a professional with it for their time and expertise

I then uploaded the dataset - SOUND_CHARACTERISTICS_HATCHBACK_MIB2_10SPEAKERS9VD_RHD_V7.1

Restarted MMI and SEAT Sound is now working, subwoofer option is available under Media Settings > Sound and the subwoofer and front door speakers are working again

Many thanks to everyone who have put up the information over the years. I am planning to upgrade the front 2 door speakers, add in the centre speaker and add in the factory subwoofer next and all the information has been really useful to get an idea what is required.

So far, I am tempted to get the Focal ISU200 for the fronts first with sound deadening and see how it feels. Then after decide if I need the subwoofer :)

I'm looking to fit just the centre speaker does anyone know if the plug is on the loom for it. Or do I need to wire it in?
As Stefan147 says it can't be done the way you want to do it, the wiring isn't there, the unit needs to be coded and the pins the that power the existing speakers are re-purposed.

Im trying to get my head around this so
to make space on pins 9/13 and 10/14 for the centre and sub we are basically removing the wiring currently in those pins for the front door woofers and joining them to the front tweeters so pins 9,10,13,14 are free for the centre and sub

i will have a go at this myself in the next few weeks.
Could someone help me with the required size for the wiring of the subwoofer and the dash speaker? I’ m thinking of getting the one in the link below, not sure how good it is? Thank you!

Kieran at East Yorkshire Retrofits does a complete SEAT Sound retrofit kit. If you've already got say the front speaker, sub, etc, you could talk to them to see if the could provide the wiring loom, etc.
