I think your under estimating how much work that would be, if you want a simple-ish engine conversion then look for any engine that came standard in a mk4 golf / audi TT etc...

If you badly want a V6 then go R32 and expect to pay £1000-£1500 for just the engine, you will also need a gearbox - £350-£500, engine mounts & driveshafts, complete engine wiring loom from car / ECU / Dash Clocks (as there coded to the ecu) not to mention the power steering pump / alternator etc etc.

Like most people are saying, unless you dead serious and have say 3 grand burning a hole in your pocket then just use that money to buy a LCR or LC for peanuts and swap your stuff over.

PS i would say a week to engine swap is no where near long enough you would probably still need to do some wiring to mate you new clocks up to the 1.4 leon car loom.

The best bet would be a 20VT engine, because the leon came with it as standard you'll be able to source parts a doddle.

So you'll need Engine, Gearbox, , Driveshafts, Engine Mounts, Engine Wiring Loom, ECU, Clocks, Key & Ignition barrel.

Maybe look for a crashed Cupra or Cupra R and you'll have everything you need.

Hi im trying to time up a seat leon 1.4 16v does anyone know the location of the timing marks, it seems to be a nightmare, engine mount has to be removed to replace.

also there is a sensor on a pipe running from the air box, the wires seem to be burnt any idea what this sensor is.
