Swap 1.8t 20v from 1.6

Hello, I have a Seat Toledo MK2 2001 model with an AUS engine on it 1.6 16v 115hp. The engine is burning a lot of oil and some of it leaks to the spark plugs and throttle body. I wanted to repair it but for the same price, I can engine swap it to a 1.8t. I want to ask for information about this swap. For example, if anyone knows which of the 1.8t 20v engines are compatible with mine, if anyone has done it before how much he paid and is it worth it? Also, mine has a 5 gearbox and if it's needed to swap it to a 6 one to be compatible with the engine

Hi Jim, I'd reckon thats one for the Toledo Mk2 forum, and probably worth asking on the Leon Mk1 Forum too, as the Leon Mk1 is identical apart from the boot. I've got a Toledo 1.8T "20VT Sport" 2003 so you can definitely put a 20VT in there, Leon Cupra/Cupra R parts would be compatible too

Not sure on gearbox compatibility, but I know the 20VT/1.8T was available in the Skoda Octavia 4x4 in 150 bhp form with a 5 speed box - I looked at those when I got mine. Not sure if you are UK based, but I'll be selling mine later this month for not a lot, so watch out for a post in the for sale section!
