Just to hijack the thread here, my sister has just bought a replacement remote part for her key off of ebay and we are trying to code it to the car, as her existing one has not been able to remotely lock/unlock the car since she bought it last year (she has used the key in the door instead).
Now we are following the procedure for
coding the key as described in the car manual but don't seem to be getting anywhere - this is it:
1. Put the remoteless key in the ignition and turn it to on (so the dash lights are on but not the engine)
2. Close the drivers door and put the key to be programmed (with remote) in the lock, and lock the car
3. Unlock and lock the car by turning the key to be programmed in the lock, pressing the unlock and lock buttons on the key at the same time - the horn should sound and lights flash if this is done correctly (this is not happening)
4. Unlock the car and remove the remoteless key from the ignition
All this to be carried out within 30 secs
Does anyone have a (different) foolproof method of getting it to work? If this doesn't
help then could it be a faulty reciever in the convenience module?
