Not sure what to make of it, obviously 2 gaskets are needed. TIG-ART say they've fitted 8 of these manifolds so far with zero issues.
zero issues yet....
more gaskets = more problems.

JBS will be offering a garret setup like the IHI soon as well Rob, thats gotta be an option.

Plus Kinetic are in talks with AMD Essex about doing a RHD version of their kit which uses the k03 downpipe, which to me is the one i want.
You should look into my kit ;)

I'll look further into this next year. Any pics of your kit yet Issam?
If you and Phil and the rest of the lads can hold on until it is done you will not be disappointed. This isnt a LHD kit chopped up and adapted to fit RHD cars
it is a RHD specific kit...

and FWIW if you or anyone were going to buy the Kinetic kit the least you could is pass your monies onto Backdraft motorsport considering it was there manifold to start with.

Problem is down to cost, Backdraft and APR kits are like £4k - which IMO is way too much for a turbo, downpipe, manifold and oil/water lines, etc.

ATP Eliminator 2 GT28RS kit is £1200 and comes with turbo, downpipe, uppipe, lines, etc., may not be the best kit in the world but at that price it is very hard to ignore. Even the JBS IHI kit is twice that.

I'm also considering the CR Turbos hybrid K04-022, JBS K04 cast mani, Piper DP, etc. which should give around 350bhp with WMI.

Ye i hear you about costs.
I am guessing with the import taxes and production cost/labour involved it is hard.

Trust me Rob, I hear you....

Developing your own turbo kit is not financially easy but I have seen all the kits out there and I have heard the opinions and feedback.I am confident in saying ours will be top notch compared to what is offered.

Rob I don't think you will make 300 bhp let alone 350 with a hybrid ko4 two of my mates both have them and one is making 285bhp the other one with full engine re build is making 291 I would save the pennys and either go for a gt28 /gt 30 because let's face it your not going to sell the car ( I never would if mine looked that good ) go for big power you don't have to usr the throttle as an on off switch you built the engine up so use it to its full potential 400bhp on a gt30 is easy with room for more if need be . Go for the most powerfull mk1 on scn and use a boost controller when you don't want to use all that bhp

Correct, I am not selling the car ever, if I had the money I'd go BDM 400 tomorrow but I can't. I will punish the hybrid GT2X for a while until I decided what to do and save up some money.

CR Turbos rate their hybrid K04-022 to 350bhp, can't remember what they said they do but they machine it out and fit bigger wheels etc. from a K06 turbo (don't know what that is). I am skeptical of the 350 too.

Quote: "Sure, when we hybrid the K04, (bigger T-wheel, thrust, K06 comp wheel), they will do 350. There's more room in the housings for bigger wheels, and the T-hsg is not as restrictive as the K03 one."

Bill has been logging my JBS cast manifold and comparing like-for-like logs against my INA manifold (JBS04 setup) and, from face value of the logs, it holds the same boost and air flow levels to the redline with both manifolds.

...but costs nearly 300 quid more.
its pricey, over priced currently imho (lets see what 2010 brings price wise), but well made in comparison.

fitment is good.

time will tell on durability - too early to call on that one.

In flow terms, not anything worthy of noting difference on the same car. Very different ambient conditions on previous log on ina manifold, to this weekends sub-zero JBS logs.
very similar logged airflow, same boost, less timing pull on jbs one, but ambients 20+ degrees different which could account for that.

If you go lower than a GT28.71 i think you just change it again. You can run a GT28.71 @ 350 bhp with no strain what so ever but you will be making your WMI almost redundant. You also have the head room to get more if you feel the need, which lets face it, im sure wou will.

Has anyone ever put a KO4 Twin Scroll on a Mk1?

Poor car sits under about 5 inches of snow on the driveway just now - how I wish I had a garage! :(

I see JBS have knocked 10% of their manifolds - aaarrrggghhh! Could they not have done that as an introductory offer. [:@]
