rns 315 update help

hyup, from what i can gather you cant update this unit without a official SD card?, anyways my question is has anyone done this? if so does it add the ability to put in postcodes on the navigation system?

i asked for an update for a 2011 car dont seem to exist? though you can use post code on the 315 anyways?

on the list just scroll down on to where it says postcode

what year car do you have

Its a 2011. Nope not got no option for postcode on mine.... It says 2.1 when booted up...

Looks like you've got one of the rogue cars of that year which had a 2.1 media system fitted. I forget exactly what the deal was but the 2.1 system got fitted to some cars instead of the 2.2 system. with the 2.2 you get full postcode search. With the 2.1 you don't unfortunately.

You cant update the firmware on a 2.1 system to 2.2 because the units themselves have physically different hardware.

Looks like I've lucked out then.... No idea why they would do a satnav without postcode selectio... Silly
