Hi,

As the title suggests I need to remove my passenger side wing mirror unit, what's left of it anyway. I have purchased an after market one and it appears that it's only held on my one bolt.

Does anyone know if it's as simple as it looks, that only one bolt is holding the unit in place? Or is there more to it and I need to remove the door card or something like that??

Just fitted the unit, very simple and it was just the one bolt. Only difficult part was the plastic case on the rear of the unit.

Cheers Thomson1.

FYI, there is need to remove the door card. One bolt on the inside of the rubber housing as shown in my photo. Exactly the same method to fix new one.

Hey Pal,

I'm having the same trouble, was wondering if you could have a look at my picture and try indicate for me what needs to be removed to remove the wing mirror?

Thanks

Ps was yours the electric windows that fold up on their own or simply just the glass is able to move?

Hey pal, when u say electric mirrors do you mean ones that fold up as you lock the car, or electric in the sense that the glass moves inside the wing mirror?

There is a bolt... You can see it when it is folded if you check, in early cars it is open to see, in later cars it is under a rubber but there is an opening to unbolt

The electric part, there is a conector that can be seen when you remove the plastic back.

- Fold side Mirror
- Unbolt
- Remove plastic back and unplug the electric connector.

The last two no specific order.

The way he got the back of is actually harder than it needs to be, if you remove the mirror glass and then release the cover from the inside it is much easier. There is a YouTube video on how to do both jobs, my tip for anyone when trying to release from the inside, instead of trying to press the tab down and pull at the same time, press down a tab and wedge it with a screw driver, that basically leaves one tab permanently released and allows you to relase a second tab at the same time.
