Sure enough when I picked up the parts they had given me the cover for the estate which would block the washer so I spent five minutes explaining to the dealer what I needed.
Even though you quote the correct part numbers it does not compute with the parts guy's in some dealerships, to rigid in thier training I guess.

Steve, I'm going down to my local Skoda soon. Do you have the part numbers for your wiper bits handy?

sorry to bring this topic up again

so is this a few mm shorter than the original leon rear wiper, or a whole inch... there seems to be some conflicting reports

also, is it easy to change the blade and how much are replacments?

It is a bit shorter but not so much that you'd notice once its installed.
Its dead easy to fit, lift the plastic cap, unscrew one nut, remove, refit, do up nut!
Dunno about replacements wouldn't have thought they be any cheaper/more expensive than the original ones anyway.

Replacement blades are about the same price. Let's face it you can go to the Skoda dealer and pick them up for about £4 so it's not a big deal.

If you get the estate arm and blde it's about 2cm max shorter and you won't notice that because you can actually see through the rest. The old one used to judder so much on mine it wasn't worth using it.

Oh and my other reasonably priced mods were...

W8 interior light conversion
Beetle turbo gear knob ( which is now not so reasonably priced at 50 odd quid  )
And the sunglasses holder in place of the grab handle.

I've been a bit slack on finding more recently as I've tried 3 things which wont fit, one of which was the TT shifter :(

Aha.... what about the TT oval rear view mirror, can it be a straight swap, without removing the fixing from the window ?

How about a TT/rain sensative for wipers/autodimming rear view mirror mod, as #5 mod;)

You do seem very good at this malarkey:D

Is it not just a case of putting the correct swiches in and then getting the dealer in to activate the appropriate mode? Bit loike fitting cruise control?

OEM's the definate way to go, keep up the good work mate, most appreciated;) :)

Just had a thought mate, how about MK4 golf front wipers, bit snazey they are!;)

Just think of the bits we can try and nick off the new mk5 golf:D

 Hate those aero wipers... But they should fit...

The rainsensitive wipers isn't as simple as cruise control from what I can figure out. The auto dim is easy but I've not found a nice way to hide the wires yet. Working on it though ;)

Does anyone have the part number for the plastic section that the arm clips into? ???
I hope you know which bit I mean!....

Some clever gits decided that it would be fun to rip off the rear wipers on the cars down my street, And managed break the plasic clip. :scream:

Out of interest is this mod from a Fabia estate, Octavia or a hatchback? Its just I tried ordering the parts from Skoda today and they say that the two part numbers for the arm one is for a estate the other for a hatchback? Any info?

Cheers

Yes, that't the way it's got to be. I was given the parts from the hatchback and the wiper is rather short. We need the estate's arm and blade and the hatchback's nut cover (it has the water jet cut while the estate's doesn't have a cut).

Just got mine for crimbo using those part numbers and the cap doesnt have a slot for the water jet!!
Then you've got the estate cap!

Some dealers (like mine) try to "do you a favour" by ordering the estate cap thinking you've got the part number wrong...

The part numbers here are correct - they're what I used way back when I did this mod.
