Im sure when I put mine on it found the centre of that rubber itself. The screw just goes down and the bottom of it goes into the groove and holds it in place.

so the bolt went on the top of the panel that has the bonnet lock on?

so on this pic, is it the panel just above the grill?
sorry for dumb questions, i just don't know how it should look like!

See the passenger head light, above it on the panel there is a bolt. It is inline with the edge of the battery. In the small section that is lower than the rest of it. Thats on the the bolts. There is one on the other side to. If you can get your head in and see the mounts on the radiator you can follow the screws up.

Im sure its an 8/10mm socket for them.

thanks to both of you, i will be having a crack on saturday morning, as i haven't had time (uni) and need the car tues!
just wanna know how to do it, as it's doing my head in, sick of it!

much appreciated!

also i might have a new slam panel (as one of the legs that hold the rad on mine is kinda broke) but the person doesn't know if it's from a AC/Non-AC ABF? does it matter?
so i can sort this problem once and for all!

slam panels listed different for AC but i cant remember why as the condenser is screwed to the rad itself

ye but its pretty much an easy job to be honest

indicators out so you can get at grille fittings

grille off so you can get at bumper

bumper off so you can get at lamps + panel nuts/bolts

unscrew headlamps

2 bolts in each top corner

2 nuts on each chassis leg iirc

apart from bonnet catch (unclips from block halfway along it )be easier to swap with panel on floor

give or take thats pretty much it
