filter is just temp till the new one arrives, and piping near inlet manifold needs sorting, just waiting for a custom silicone pipe to be made :D

How high above boot floor level is the battery cover top, Rick?

What are you proposing to do with the space upfront?

just the battery it sits below , with the cover on its a little above, but you dont really need the cover on, with the boot carpet over it, but i think ill change to a sealed battery though.

as for the space, i might fit an oil carch tank and a water injection tank in ther in the future, also angle the filter forward some more, say on a 45 degree angle to aid flow, but getting an enclosed filter.

what wire did you use and fancy writing up a quick guide for how u relocated the battery do the boot?

as this is the next job on mine so can fit the XXL induction kit

cheers andy

I used some welding cable that my mate got from work for the high powered welders, very fine cores and lots of them, i think its 25mm2, a set of long jump leads, will also work,

1. run cable along trim to the boot

2. remmove battery from front and mount in boot, i used wood that was stuck to the botton of the spare tyre well, then fixed to that.

3 under the battery there is the main chassis earth so this is ok to stay, connect the end that went to the - ve terminal on the battery to a suitable location on the chassis, bare metal.

4. to ground the car from the battrey I used the thread that held the wheel down in the wheel well with a 25 x 8 mm crimp lug, remove pait to bare metal, 8mm bolt for the thread.

5. buy some battery terminals and connect to the 2 ends, dont connect to the battery yet.

6. go to the front, cut off the + ve connector and disconnect the fuse box wire on the top of the battery,

7. in the first pic i posted on the bottom left is a black cap and the main + ve wire going to it, disconnect this and connect your wire from the boot to it using another 25 x 8 crimp lug, make another lead up about 1m long with another lug on and connect this to the same place

8. connect the other end of the 1m or so lead to the fuse box that was on the top of the battery, mount this in a suitable place to gain access to in the future.

9. connect up the battery and start the engine

hope this helps :)

There's a few pics of Leon boot installs over on ICECavern... depending what you want tho, you could either put the subs to the side of the boot and make something like the stealth box, or, if there's still the space with the battery in there, whack a sub in the spare wheel well...

ok update, the intercooler is now on and operational lol, lag doesnt seem to be very noticable, and the whole car seems alot more free flowing, (pics when i can edit them)

also ordered a carbon fiber bonnet yesterday so hopefully should be a good fit and a good weave.
