So today, I ended up with yet another C5 RS6 (BCY) engine!
This was priced right, and very complete, with turbos, loom and ECU. It never hurts to have a spare, so one could always be rebuilt to a different spec.
This is becoming a habit, picking up BCY engines.

If DPD arrived with that and said where you want it ... I'd go with "inside that engine bay over there all connected up would be ace".
To cut down on time, I’m not going to drill, tap and machine the block to allow it to mate up to my 01E, I’m going to transfer the entire BCY internals into a 4.2 V8 40V block, from a 2002 S6.

Finally, I picked up the car, seeing it for the first time. It’s actually Dakota Red Metallic, rather than the Emocion Red non-metallic I originally thought.
And after seeing the car in real life, I’ve decided to retain the facelift SEAT headlamps, and build a hybrid B7 RS4 bumper around them.

Though I’m tempted to retain the red. Probably go more intense, like the metallic red on new Renault Clio / Captura.
I’m retaining the SEAT tailgate. I’ll be inserting the SEAT license plate tub into the B7 RS4 bumper.
Front end will incorporate the SEAT headlamps and grille, with the B7 RS4 lower bumper blended into the SEAT upper section, which needs to be retained due to the SEAT BiXenon headlamps.
I’m not going with the B8.5 headlamps and grille now, I’ll be selling the headlamps I sourced.

Think the RS4 wheels will suit the exeo much better. Keep the red, fastest colour of all.
I have actually considered keeping it red, but going with the metallic red as used on new Renault Clio / Captur.
I have my RS4 wheels, genuine 8.5”x19”, with 255/35x19 Continentals.
In the course of looking over my parts the past weekend, I discovered a rather subtle difference between the B7 Audi A4 and the B7 SEAT Exeo fenders.
At first glance, the only difference appeared to be the side repeater recesses. Looking closer, it goes further.
On the SEAT fender corner, by the windshield base, in line with current Audi models is an area that allows the hood to have a slight overlap. The Audi fender lacks this. Looking at the pictures above, of the Exeo and RS4, the fender corners are different.
The pictures of both B7 RS4 and Exeo hoods shows the differences too, where the hoods meet the fenders.

After a bit of thought, I have decided to stay with Red. I’m going with the current Mazda 6 / Renault Clio. Still red metallic, but deeper, and a slightly coarser flake.
