i dont see why not Maz... with that much boost you must be shifting tons of air.

what sort of figures do you see? im not up on diesel tuning really.

i dont see that it has to be a dynatwist (expense) why not a ramair if you are going to cut it up?

I havent done a run with a vagcom yet (will be doing so very soon) but the car pulled 241BHP at a recent rolling road around 3 weeks ago. She has her "final' map now so she is running well.

EDIT: sounds awesome :)

Probees homework
1.Replace Dynatwist crappy cone with a better cone and refit in Dynatwist housing.
2. leave n75 valve electrically connected and replumb a mbc in its place and up the boost a smidgen.

3. Enjoy breaking the 240g/sec barrier.:)

Probee how did you machine the housing of the dynatwist, how much do you want for cutting mine.

Video is awesome and sounds ubber cool.

Hehe filter is on order :)

MBC is a great idea and something im definately going to do.... after getting the Cam chain sorted. if you know what to listen for its quite clear at the start and end of the video.

i marked out the area i didnt want then used a 55mm hole saw in the corners and joined up the holes with a jigsaw. finished with a file, flapwheel then some wet and dry.

its not about money mate, id do it for nothing if i had spare time. its very easy... it took me 40 mins, if you get stuck ill help you out.

Cheers mate. I'll have a bash.
this is the one i'm thinking of .... dual cone and 125mm.

The problem is i have air filters comming out of my arse and i thought it had been done to death and i knew what the best solution was. Its all gone tits up since you've posted those logs.

I have to get my maff crown back of that pesky Probee.

LOL it's thrown a bit of a spanner in the works

I looked at that filter. It's a little wide at the bottom, it will be very close to not fitting (which is why I made a new base to take a 90mm id filter, which I have on order) but I'm sure by removing more material on the backside you can make it fit.

There are loads of universal filters that will fit. I'm not sure I could get more flow from a twin cone but in principal it's possible.

Great figures, Aaron, I'd like to see that on a RR now. Don't they sound good with the timing advanced?

I'm a little at a loss to explain the MAF size issue

Amazing work on the filter housing. To be honest, as someone who was a big CAI proponent who moved onto pure open cone, I'd be interested to see some logs on yors with just the filter and no housing.......

You can totally hear the chain but would never of initially put it down to that.
How did you suss out what it was?
Induction sounds ace, where was the camera when you were filming that? In the car on the dash board?
It's really good to see people forging ahead with the thinking behind these cars, well done.

its all a little confusing Dave but the two recent figures are definately comparable.... a gain of 15gs by removing some material

i wanted to try just an open cone but i have problems with supporting the MAF. This is just benificial as i can still direct cold air onto the cone. when my twin cone turns up it should be interesting.

Thanks Willie. i had to take it to TotalVag because it only does it when you rev it slightly and i needed someone who knew what to listen for. Greg has heard it several times but says it will never break.....fingers crossed!

camera was under the windscreen wiper hehe

Aaron you take ur car in today? CAn you get the ID of the pipe that fits on the to TB and if you can the ID of the CIA? 80mm i think?

ill see what i can do mate....

Sounds awesome Aaron!!!!
A bracket for supporting the MAF can be made quite easily with a small U shaped section on metal and can then be fixed to a point behind the battery and another on engine mount/gearbox (can't remeber which).
Top work though bud!!

my MAF doesnt have any holes in it at all. i would like some definate fixing for it. you only have to ask Dave about killing MAFs :)

Nick - TB is 65mm and CAI is 80mm

Hmmmm ok what about using the bracket idea but using T bolt hose clamps
tboltwebmain.jpg

mounted vertically with the bolt through the bracket then looped around the MAF. Can even add something rubber, like cable entry gromits, to provide some rebound and protect the MAF.
Heres a little pic of my bracket.
