It is illegal to run out of fuel on any road, so would still be illegal and you would all get done for it as the cops would make an example of all who 'brokedown' as a publicity stunt to quell protests etc.
Thats a shame. still im sure we could suffer from some other cause. They've got us by the balls. If we want the fuel then we're soft enough to pay for it. Hence it being so high!!

It's about £1.16 in Edinburgh. Total rip off. Diesel used to be 5p a litre more expensive than petrol because of the extra tax Maggie Broon put on it (because it's got less CO2 emissions and better fuel economy! Eh?!?! Nice one, Gord!) Now the extra 5p has come from somewhere. I suspect it's going straight into the pockets of the oil companies. What was it, £33million a DAY profit?
Don't agree that it's less polluting than petrol though, DERVs may have less CO2 emissions but just think of all the other crap they spew out everywhere... I'm feeling guilty already and I won't be driving one for another month!

Co2 is bugger all to do with climate change. its just a way to charge us more and more to make money from us. millions of years ago when we hadn't even set foot on the plannet cars didn't cause climate change back then. Its just natural. The world heats up and cools down over time. Hence ice ages etc. There are too many do-gooders out there who believe all the cr@p the government fill us with so they can tax us!

I think a lot of people would disagree with you on that!! I'm not going to get into a debate about it. I did like this sentence though:

One thing is for sure, the government WILL cash in on it by hitting us with so-called 'green' taxes. If these were going to help sources of renewable energy I'd not complain so much, but they aren't. They are just going straight into government coffers, just like every other tax.
Yup, I have gotten quie irrate at times about the whole issue of renewable and how gov't 'push' for renewable energy but do not seem to really investigate it or put the investment in!

paying £117.9 around milton keynes at the min shell seems to cheaper than anyone, am getting a petrol leon cupra and thinking of putting lpg on it while doing short journeys to work
Surprise Surprise the Texaco garages put another penny on their fuels yesterday evening (123.9) just before the weekend. That's just balatant profiteering as the Sainsburys is 3p a litre cheaper!
Yup £1.24 a litre here too - and like Jace, this ain't about the garages or the fuel companies ... this is all about our stinking rotten tax greedy government!
A major boycot of all forecourts will hit the coffers hard! Rolling Road blocks to snarl the place up and Gordy may take some notice, if not do it again.... EVERYONE needs to stand up and not take this crap of pricing the general public out of everything! The average person cannot cope with the price rises on fuel (including home heating etc).
It is, £3 million an hour!! They are profiteering on the markets selling the commodities thanks in part to the credit crunch. The government isn't helping and it isn't going to (and none of the parties will). Boycotting forecourts won't help (how are you going to get to work without fuel?) and will only end up hurting the small franchise owners who are already squeezed hard by the oil companies (who own very few forecourts themselves).
