I would have thought it would have an impact as the intake will be measured via the MAF and the car fuelled accordingly and calls made for boost levels etc. Then a boost pressure sensor would determine the amount of boost actually being produced (vs what the ECU is asking for) and determine how the other components control the amount of fuel injected and boost levels. If either sensor is failing or giving duff info to the ECU then I would expect power to be down.

Get it fixed first without a doubt. You shouldn't change anything before its fixed as you won't know what might be causing issues if something else plays up and you give the garage something to use as an excuse!

All remaps are different.

Cleaning the turbo properly is not a 2 minute job it involves removing it completely and de-choking the vanes in order for it to work properly.

had the same problem on mine when i first bought the car it kept going into limp mode did some digging and found the lad b4 had boged the intercooler pipe on because the clips had broke, I also found the pipe going from the actuator had been rubbing on the induction pipe but it had not rubbed all of the way through which caused the pipe to collapse under load which in turn made the vains in the turbo clog up so I replaced both the intercooler pipe and actuator pipe and also ran double shots of millers diesel performance additive through it and i have had a problem since touch wood(7 months and still going strong) hope this helps :)

how is al remaps different thought they all did the same ?

because every different company will change things slightly differently and all the gains will differ when its tried on a dyno, unless you use revo or custom code who use franchise dealers. in that case it'll be the same generic map.

hi guys . i sufferd from the exact same problem but it was in my golf gttdi as soon as i touched a certian speed or when i put my foot down the car would pull but then after the car touches certian rev it would feel underpowerd .

i spent allot of money took it 2 vw and allot of garages some said it was the air mass sensoser etc ...

i spent allot of money but no result then i found out what it could be . it was the turbo and trust me buddy get it checked out :)

anyway i hope that helped :)
