Bought new bring and gaskets for the dreaded EGR removal/clean. Absolute PITA to get into the bottom bolt hold EGR on, took off with the EGR cooler steel pipe. EGR didn’t look too bad
But the cooler pipe was caked:
A good scrape and scrub with brake cleaner, various screwdrivers and scotch-brite got them all nicely cleaned:
New bring fitted to EGR body and gaskets fitted to pipe, found it easier to fit pipe onto EGR with one bolt (bolt nearest to engine), tighten up EGR then fit last bolt from pipe to EGR.
Part numbers for the oring and gaskets:
Cleaned out EGR inlet pipe as there was a wee bit oil in it and also cleaned out catch can. Think having the catch can might be helping keep the EGR a bit cleaner (it’s not been done for a few years and the last time I did it the EGR internals were much worse).
