Right I’m getting pissed off with this electrical fault - car sat for 3 weeks with a solar trickle charger connected into 12v boot socket but when I went to start her………nothing, not even a click. Plus noticed no numbers in either of the cluster LCDs
Long story short the battery was only reading 7.2v!!!!! Got it recharged overnight and car started ok, however, if I bumped the dash (above instrument cluster) then all the dash lights would come on and the needles would judder down to 0 then reset.
Bought a used set of clocks and tried the ‘bump’ test - all ok, so sent them both off to aRd Techick to get info transferred from mine to replacement.
Fitted and tried out, all working with no issues

Had the usual intermittent problem with passenger front door lock - last one was eBay special a few years ago. Decided to scan and see what else, 3 of 4 locks showing faults.
Bought OEM locks from TPS - driver & passenger.
Replaced the passenger one first, the worst bit was removing the butyl tape I’d put on last time (f**k it’s sticky stuff). Back together and tested ok . Took the opportunity to resolder door handle LED.
Next day got the drivers door lock replaced. Tested ok so I was chuffed again.
Imagine my choice of words when I nipped down to Tesco and found both front doors wouldn’t open .
Had to climb out back door when I got home. These cars just laugh in yer face !!!!

Back at the drivers door, turns out I’d forgotten to reattach the internal pull cable
As I couldn’t get door open, I had to remove handle, remove 8 Philips screws holding inner half of handle to door card, pull out handle the reattach the pull cable. All back together I was still left with door stuck!!!!!!!!
Banged on outer handle while pulling inner handle and hey-presto the door opened .
Onto the passenger door, I tried the same banging on door/flicking switch on drivers door/disconnecting battery but still stuck shut.
Ended up pulling internal handle off and by pulling cable the door opened!!!!!
Turns out it was the rubber end of the pull cable had jumped out of the door lock bracket and not allowing the lock to be operated.
All working now and I’m chuffed again.

Always hated the redundant 2 lines in the bottom of the instrument cluster

So had a play with font styles/sizes on excel (couldn’t find stickers small enough online)

Decided on the top right and fitted into place, think it just finishes the dash

Ordered a replacement scuttle panel ID cover online, custom with VIN Plate number

And no, it didn’t come with the bit of carpet attached, the mutt chewed that off the stairs so I used it to hide my VIN number

Will get this installed when the blinking rain stops

Spent a couple of hours cleaning the engine bay and modifying my engine cover - ever since fitting the strut brace the cover never fitted
So measured and marked before slicing a section off

Sanded & smoothed the edges, have it a good clean then painted the I with red enamel paint (3 coats)

Fits and looks just right

Happy with the fit so just need some spray adhesive to secure it properly.

Not updated for a while, sorry folks!!
Have been collecting bits for a suspension refresh and finally got it all done.
Cleaned and coated rear beam with SuperPro bushes, new splash guards, new hubs/bearings, new Brembo discs/pads, new longer HEL braided hoses, new Bilstein shocks & Eibach springs with new rubber bump stops & guides with all new bolts.
On the front new wishbones with SuperPro bushes, new ball joints, new track rod ends, new hubs/bearings, new Brembo discs/pads, new HEL braided hoses, new Bilstein shocks & Eibach springs with new top mount LCR bushes/bearings, new outer cv joints and again all new bolts fitted.
Had to have a new brake line installed from master cylinder to rear n/s braided hose plus both front caliper balance pipes replaced.
Big shout out to Maitland Street Motors for their awesome work
Car now feels like it did when I bought it 16 odd years ago

Just a thought is that boot 12v socket not switched?

So you are charging nothing if so

No it’s not switched, I used tyre pump without turning ignition on but thanks anyway.
I now have the plug-in connectors attached to battery so I can use the panel to charge the battery
