Basically me engine is screwed - it ran on and blew up.

I have another pd130 engine but it is an asz, how easy is it to get running in my car...

I have egr delete so the different egrs is put of the equation anyhow.

Thanks!!

Do you mean BUK or BLT?

BLT (PD130) would be a straight swap as you're planning an EGR and Cooler delete.

BUK (PD160) would also be a straight swap, but turbos are different and the headbolts are stronger so you may need to swap them onto the ASZ donor, as well as the EGR and Cooler delete.

No need to change ECU etc...

Nope, they're the exact same engine (some debate the injectors are different, however, they are not) except the only differences was the introduction of the EGR cooler and electronic Anti-Shudder Valve (ASV).

Which reminds me, this will have to be swapped from your old engine to the new engine.

I believe that i removed the antishudder valve which is why it ran on... its part of the egr isnt it? However i can refit it ... without the egr cooler?

It's only part of the EGR on the ASZ engines, they are separate parts (albeit, bolted together) on the BLT engines.

I would recommend fitting the ASV back onto the car as it's designed (as you've already found out) to stop run away engines.

You can.

If you're using the BLT inlet EGR and ASV setup, then you can buy a delete pipe to remove just the EGR and retain the ASV.

If you're using the ASZ inlet and EGR, I would blank the EGR valve underneath and unplug the vacuum pipe so you can retain the ASV valve.

So to keep the asv, is it the left hand part or the right hand part... left hand is the bit with the plug on isnt it ? Egr is the bit with the vac pipe going to it ..
