Well seems I could be after another Ibiza, Maybe a Sportrider with the 1.9TDI Engine.

I've been doing some research & I'm considering turning a PD100 into a 200 BHP machine! :D

Now I've been gathering a list, But I need some extra advice on bits which I might of missed.

First off I've been doing some research & I get the impression that the PD150 Turbo should fit onto a PD100 Cylinder head?

I noticed that Turbo Technics do a Hybrid for the PD150 which is capable upto 210 BHP.

http://www.turbotechnics.com/turbo/hybridrange.htm

Now I've been informed that the standard Fuel Injectors are good upto 200 BHP?

If so wouldn't I need to upgrade the Fuel Pump?

Also I'm considering a Milltek full system including Cat or Maybe even De-cat if I can get past on an MOT...

But is there any other Exhausts systems out there that you would recommend?

This thread here on a Bora has inspired me to even consider this Upgrading on the Engine's Performance -

http://www.gtini.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=545&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=105

I will also need a FMIC, Maybe a Forge or Seat Sport one?

Anyone got any idea's, suggestions or advice that might help :)

Best Regards

Ash

You would be far better starting with a CUPRA and having it remaped.

FMIC std
160 bhp std
312 brakes std
stiffer suspension std
6 speed box std

The insurance on a CUPRA with a remap will be less than a Sportrider with as many mods as you are suggesting.

I agree.

Cosmetic mods I can understand not declaring - but to make so many mods to a car and not declare it is nuts. Why bother insuring it cos the insurance isn't worth the paper its written on if you have an accident.

Just don't drive like a complete :censored:

I mainly want to do it for Track days as the UK's Roads have speed limits obviously. But a trip to our German Friends on the Autobahn onwards to the Nurburgring shall be fun :D

What if you are stopped by a traffic cop who is a vehicle inspector?

If they know their cars well, then your gubbed.

Insurance is invalid, and will be void if you do not pay the additional premium that would be applied.

Also to add fuel to the fire come your renewal you will be refused insurance due to non disclosure.

Happy days for you of you decide to do it :)

Drive as careful as you want. When someone pulls out on you and you hit them - yes it's their fault. BUT - the insurance will want to know why you need an FMIC replacing when the car never had one and it's not listed as fitted.

Have just gone through this scenario with one of our company vans. he didn't see someone and pulled out. They hit him. Now we are having a nightmare of a legal battle because his modified car was officially NOT insured !!

Oh yeh the autobahn in a diesel Ibiza is a real hoot.
And mine is quicker than most.

Why would anyone buy a 100hp car with the intention of turning it into a 200hp car.
Seems like a pointless exercise when you could spend the same money and buy one with 190hp, all the bits you want, better brakes, suspension and looks?

Declaration costs more than its worth.

Insurance companies just don't want to take on any risks & thats the reason for such high premiums.

Even if I did declare it with Mods, The Insurance will cost more than the car?

Thats the whole point in it ...risk.

You have a faster car your at higher risk of an accident. Also the value of repairing the car after an accident is increased due to the "aftermarket" parts, so the premium is adjusted to account for this.

Cancel your insurance, and go out a drive tonight if thats how you feel.

I hope you then get stopped and hit with a section 126 and your vehicles impounded then scrapped.

Does anyone not agree that Insurance prices are just getting out of control along with fuel prices though?

You have just answered the question as to why insurance is so high - insurance companies are no longer stupid - there is no way you will drive like miss daisy after spending so much to DOUBLE the power of your car.

Therefore you have significantly increased your risk factor in their eyes.

I am not sure what the exact number is but I was told that you can increase power by a percentage with a moderate increase in premium. Go beyond the insurance companies sensible limit and the premium goes silly.

I have just been quoted £60 extra on my insurance for a remap on my ibiza up to but not exceeding 199hp.

Every companies different mate.

It can start from 20bhp increase upwards.

Its the premium loadings that are different.

Some start at an increase of 25% of your premium for "performance" mods.

Insurance put aside people, Do you think 200 BHP out of a PD100 is achievable?
