nothing wrong with my pump but on the next oil change im taking the sump of. I will be cleaning/replacing the pick up pipe and fully cleaning everything, is it worth the hassle of replacing the pump while im there? I don't read of there been a common thing to fail so don't know if its worth the extra cash wasted!

cheers:)

If the car is high mileage or you're planning on going for some big power then I'd change it just for the peace of mind. I've just replaced mine (AMK LCR) and it cost £120 for the pump.

yes its done a lot of miles, 140k's worth. im going to start buying stuff today, funny really as I told me self next time I have to spend money on this car im selling it!

how easy is it to replace the pump, im sure I read last night the subframe needs to be removed?

£120 was from seat im guessing as everything on way is way cheaper such as.

Yep, that price was from Seat. Don't ask! lol.

Changing the oil pump is relatively easy. Drain oil, remove sump, remove drive sprocket bolt from pump then remove the pump (3 bolts). You'll need some gasket sealant for when you refit the sump and some long ball ended allen keys will make the job easier.
