Hello,

I have installed a new instrumentpanel in my Leon Station, yearmodel 2014 with 1.6 TDI engine.
I have issues with de fuel range gauge, thats keeps saying the fueltank is full, while I have been driving for 300 km. I think the new instrumentcluster has changed something in the setting of the fueltank.

In VCDS, instrument (17) I have options to select 6 different types of fueltank (variant 1, 2, etc). Is someone of you willing to scan the instruments (17) with VCDS and post his coding here? So that I can compare this with my current coding of the fueltank selection. My car is a Leon 1.6 tdi, station model. Modelyear 2014.

Hope someone can help my out. Thanks in advance!

5F0920872A hardware Instrument. Can you post a picture of your settings / bytes at the fueltank variants? I have 2 boxes to choose from (variants 1 2 3) and second box models.

Is your Leon a stationwagon 1.6 tdi?

I have bit 0-2: 02 fuel tank variant 3.
Bit 3-6: 10 model variant 2.

Under adaption Offset for tank calibration
sensor 1: -12,8.
Sensor 2: 12,7
Sensor 3: 12,7
Sensor 4: 12,7
Complete: -12,8

For the tank, only byte 02 bit 0-2 is of interest. I have already swapped several speedometers and only set this. Byte 02 bit 3-6 only says which model Layout the speedometer Show in the display.

Thanks! And did you have to calibrate the tank sensor? Are the scores under adaption at sensor 1 and complete right values? I can’t figure out why the tank meter shows 8 blocks on my instrument, while I have used at least 20liters of the full tank. After the swap everything works after coding but the tank meter gives wrong amounts diesel in the tank.

Needle of speedcluster was fuzzy. It was not moving correctly and was shaky. I think somehow dust or a bad needle shaft.

Didn't you make a backup/data backup of the control unit beforehand? I coded everything like the old one and only have to adjust the consumption. Disconnect the battery, hold both poles together, then the control units will discharge completely. Then wait another 25 minutes, reconnect everything and see.

Found a old scan of my car. Tank settings are right coded in the new cluster. Just tried to disconnect the battery for 45 minutes but this didn’t do anything for the fueltanksensor. I just drove 350 km and the fueltankcluster dropped 1 block (of 8).

Does anyone know how to do the tankcalibration one VCDS? Do you have fill the tank and then choose calibration? It doesn’t say what to do for calibration. Or any other suggestions what could be wrong?

It is super weird that the tankvolume display stopped working within switchting the new instrumentcluster. New coding and old coding of the cluster is exactly the same.

I just looked and it was 2.6. I just adapted it to 7.0 and the remaining range changed. Wat is the preferred value for this?
Unfortunatly the meter of the fueltank did not move.

I have a 1.6 tdi Leon St. The instrument cluster was a 5F0920872A and the new one was exactly the same partnumber. It came of a 1.6 tdi Leon from the same production year 2014.

The adaption of the range was succesfull showing a more correct remaining distance but it did not influence the measuring blocks of the tank meter.

I wil try to remove the sensor and reconnect it.
In adaption I also found a value that says it is not active. I think it is oke but does anyone know what the correct value is?

In adaption:
(1)-Total operating range gas-State,not active

I don’t have a CNG/LNG/LPG gas car but a diesel. I see some tdi’s have this value set active but i don’t know what it means.
