im sure i read a little bit about insurance a couple of pages back, well i am absolutely delighted with the price i paid yesterday. i have had my full lisence for 10 months but have 1 years ncb as i had insured my car with my provisional lisence when learning to drive. the insurers i was with last year quoted me £859 3rd party fire and theft for me with my dad as a named driver, however i wanted fully comp with my dad and my boyfriend as named drivers for this they quoted me £1312 lol which i told them to shove!! so i tried diamond fully comp with my dad and bf as named drivers i paid £636 for a 10 month bonus accelerator policy, well chuffed! when i told the 1st insurance company about this the basically accussed me of lying and told me to phone diamond back to double check, to which i replied bloody right i will phone them back, to tell them i will take it!!!

I always run my 17s at about 29 / 30 psi front and rear and they're fine! But up them to about 32 - 34 when got a big full load. Only prob I have with my 17s is the low profile tyres mean you can never see when tyres flat! Pumped mine up the other day and they wer all down to about 16psi!!!!!

Never thought I'd say this Kirsti, but when it comes to insurance, I really wish I was a girl!!!! You get such a better deal than us lads!!!!!

What do you reckon the charge for impersonating a girl for insurance purposes is?
I'll wager it's less than the 600 odd quid kirsti just saved.......

Thinking about it, you'd only get found out by insurance companies if you lie about your gender if you have an accident. But yeah i'm guessing you'd be fined and prob be put on some kind of 'list' that all insurance companies see saying that you lied???? ah well, i'm bored of dreaming of having cheap insurance, just one of those things that's a distant dream for me at the min!

Hey up chris mate, you done much to your puma yet??

I've been neglecting this thread for a while. Been busy sourcing parts.

So after arguing earlier in the thread that I would probably not go lower. I have decided that I am. Just bought Cupra suspension off Steve (ganda_cupra) will hopefully be here by Friday.

So cant wait for that, better looks and handling. My car is really starting to take shape now.

Also ordered some 20mm spacers from eBay to bring the back wheels out a bit!

Can't believe how much progress I've made with it.

Having done almost nothing for almost a year, it's really came on in the past 6 months.

Couldn't have done it without you guys providing motivation and technical help.

So a big cheers to everyone!

Lol this sounds really soppy or something

markmeus, I noticed in your sig that you've got an XCarLink iPod kit, do you know if its the 8 pin or the 2 x 6 pin? I've done a search, and all the people who've replied either own cupra's (i dunno if they would be different) or say email the manufacturers. I have tried emailing them a week ago but no response, so any help would be appreciated.

Just this minute sold my car! £150 :D

TBF, it needs a new gearbox, and have sold it to my brother's mates dad and let him have it cheap due to him doing things on it in the past, and will no doubt help if/when I want an exhaust system put on the cupra along with FMIC and he never asks for anything in return.
