My Leon 2.0 TDI 170 PD has just over 42k miles but is now over 5 years old so I've decided to change cam belt and water pump. Left it yesterday at Jardine Seat in Milton Keynes. Also decided to do large service at the same time.
Today, in the morning, went to pick it up.
First thing I was told what has been done. Then I've been told that the engine is loud when cold and that it is fine but I should keep an eye on it just in case it gets louder.
After paying £609 I went to start the car. After starting it an error shows up straight away that there is no coolant.
Switched the engine off and opened the hood. I was a bit surprised that the coolant bottle cap is not on at all, just left in front of the windscreen. Also coolant level was way under the minimum.
Went back in for them to sort it out. It took them few minutes to fill it up and warm up the car. Went home thinking that it's not a great thing to happen when you pick your car up from cambelt job.
When I drove to work in the afternoon something didn't feel right. Engine didn't sound like it used to couple of days ago. Didn't have time to listen to it closely.
Just few minutes ago after finishing work I started the car and straight away some kind of strange noise comes out. Drove it few meters and it gets worse. It is like a tapping noise that goes together with revs. Plus, a whining noise when I press and release the accelerator. Both these noises were definitely not there when I left the car at the garage yesterday.
What should I do now?
1.Call Jardine Seat and tell them about them?
I assume that they will book it in for next week, charge me for diagnostic and say that it was like that before.
2. Call Seat HQ straight away and tell them about the issue?
3. Get an RAC to check my car and see what they say and have it on paper and then go back to seat?
