I thought i'd share my 2005 mk5 VW golf GT TDI DSG GTI Edition 30 replica with Revo stage 2 as i've mentioned it loads but never really shared it.
Its also sadly up for sale but don't let that stop you reading through my progress with it!
I am selling my beloved Golf to fund something the Mrs is more comfortable driving. I bought this car less than 12 months ago because of the ease of having DSG thinking it would inspire my partner to do more driving but it seems that not only does she struggle driving a manual she also struggles piloting anything bigger than a pram.
I've always wanted a mk5 GTI but it wasn't practical to have a petrol and they never made a mk5 GTD so I thought I'd build my own as a compromise.
Alas I offer this fantastic car for sale with full service history and an endless list of maintenance history and upgrades.
The last service stamp will be filled in by myself. I have a folder full of receipts of purchased parts and costs.
I chose this car because of its high spec and traceable history. It was purchased from Layerthorpe VW in York in May of 2005 as a lease car for Lloyds TSB, the driver then purchased the car privately before selling it in some years later, to myself. I am the third owner on the log book.
The car has been meticulously maintained regardless of cost with pretty much all the work carried out by myself, a VW master technician of 12 years. Most of the parts replaced were faultless, I changed them for piece of mind.
All the common failing parts have been replaced with new parts including turbo, mechatronic unit, ABS pump, glow plugs etc
The car will come with 12 months MOT, serviced and valeted.
The last service was carried out in July and was a full service using genuine parts and vw 507.00 spec oil.
Engine:
2.0 TDI PD 16v BKD 140bhp 116k genuine, proven miles
In the past 6 months the engine has had:
New timing belt, tensioners and rollers
New water pump
New auxiliary belt
New alternator pully
New thermostat
New G13 coolant
Oil and filter changed 3 times using genuine parts, 507.00 spec oil and a magnetic sump plug. The oil was flushed first using forte treatment
Green cotton air filter
Custom cold air intake to the n/s/f grill
Glow plugs
Injector loom
New turbo and gaskets (oil changed at the same time)
New inlet manifold
ARP con rod bolts (sump removed and flushed at the same time)
I had the engine terracleaned in January when I bought it
Forge silicon intake pipes
Allard egr delete
Egr cooler removed
S3 intercooler
New air con rad
Air con regas
New pollen filter
Decat down pipe
Custom 3" straight trough exhaust with twin stainless tip
Armoured 5mm steel undertray
Custom oil catch can with inline filter
New anti shudder valve
New fuel filter
New bosch battery and tray
New starter motor (all earth points rust proofed)
Black coolant and washer tank caps
New coolant temp sensor
Boost line fitted if you want to fit a boost gauge
Stage 2 Revo technik software with the latest software revision running approximately 190bhp.
Always sees good fuel economy. 55mpg with ease when driven sensibly.
The decat does cause some mild smoke from cold start up but this vanishes very quickly once driven.
The power delivery is wicked! 3rd gear in D auto mode just pulls and pulls. I try not to use sport mode these days as it's a bit scary and wakes up the traction control!
The engine doesn't use a drop of water or oil and has no leaks.
Always used shell v power nitro +, never cheap fuel.

Flywheel and clutch pack replaced by Wolverhampton VW last year
Mechatronic unit was rebuilt earlier this year by ECU-testing with a lifetime warranty
New dsg unit seal
Dsg oil and filter were replaced at the same time as the mechatronic unit

Air duct to cool the box built into the undertray
Poly bushed lower engine mounting
DSG paddle shift steering wheel
Brakes:
345mm vented RS3/Cupra R front brakes with new FEBI discs and pads, painted red and silver with GTI decals
310mm vented RS3/R32 rear brakes with new FEBI discs and pads
Braided hoses all round
Rs3 back plates fitted, painted in gloss black
Fluid replaced with genuine DOT4 fluid
G201 sensor replaced
Suspension/chassis:
Cast lower arms
JOM coilovers
Poly bushed front arms
Poly bushed anti roll bars
