oh right! lol

yea ur right... i actually did 2 runs (for both boxes)

ok maybe i should have done say 5 for each and taken an average?! i dont know!

thing is, tbh i wouldnt want to do more than 2 runs in each, cos im not the sort of person who likes to hit the limiter in the car! lol.

a slight hill yes, well more of an incline! only slight tho!

that was for the modded box! so this would have made a difference i gues!

as for meassuring blocks 2 and 3... would that have made a difference? which one should i be using?

cheers :)

Try the same test with a clean standard paper air filter. From the tests i have done the paper filter outflows both the green replacement cartridge and the dynatwist. Not much in it but may push you into the 190's. When you get remapped you'll be well into the 200's i should think with those readings.
I have found the exact OPPOSITE on logs..
new paper filter vs Green p[anel vs dynatwist
paper filter flowed least (but not by much, but remembering they also clog up much faster being reliant on very small pore sizes for filtration)

ok no worries there then!

so its just back to the air temp!

as for goin up a slight incline... will that affect the results at all?

i mean i did the loggin on a very short part of a dual carriage way between 2 roundabouts, and i logged up and down both sides of the road for both the standard and modded box... so it should be a fair test in that respect!

as i said... il av to wait for some cold weather!

i agree with bill... before i fitted my green filter element, i put my mouth close to it and blew some air at/through it and then i did the same to the OE paper element and you could definitely feel more air coming out the other side with your hand on the green one! thus proving the green filter is more efficient! great test i know, but still lol.

also the OE paper filter is about twice as thick as the green one, so obvioulsy that wont help... as for actual filtration, i gues the OE is better, tho i may be wrong! but im sure the green is good enough! :)

going up hill will take more time to get through the rev range meaning more logs so thats better, wont affect the results though

Great scientific test there  ;)

as a serious aside to this 'testing' is the green panel that much better, or even a bit better than a new paper filter? & the big question is does it rattle?
i only ask as i have access to a seemingly infinite supply of paper ones  ;)

when i logged ibiza new OE paper vs green many moons ago.... vag-com showed 3bhp more across the range with green. std airbox. no mods.

dont know whether this has been mentioned but i took out my fogs and turned them into air feeds one for the intercooler and the other runs a 3 inch pipe straight into the air box i to am running a panel filter by green and the car feels much better than when i was running a cone , might try moving the battery so i can get a bigger pipe tho the 3 inch fits the air box nice and the intake where the lights were

I'm still waiting to see if the modded box & 4" feed makes any difference, but I'm sure i will try a green filter soon if it doesn't rattle (bill?).
i have a FMIC so no probs with the SMIC's not getting enough air, but I'm not going to use the fog light mounting anymore as i think it is a little to low. my pipe is about 5" above that, but without the 'ramair' effect as it just gets its air from the void that is created by the bumper 'intakes', maybe the fewer bends will make up for it, but no one will be sure without direct comparison which is not really viable :(
so i guess we will just continue to speculate.

My green panel doesn't rattle - I don't see how it could...
i can't work it out either, but i DO remember seeing several posts on here to the contrary :(
i vividly recall someone taking one back out for that reason.
i think I'll suck it & see (pun alert) for the sake of £40.

i had to trim a few of the luggs off on the sides and ends of the filter to get it to fit properly in the box! (as ur meant to according to the green instructions!)

so i cant see how it could ever vibrate!
