Very interesting and worth considering.

You can get a 4" feed round the battery with cover on though - without having to relocate it........

Well done jame you did it!

Whats the car feeling like now better?

Need to smooth the top of my box soon, keep on forgetting to do it! What did you use in the end to get it all off?

Just a thought james rather than just looking at the peak value compare 3 logs of each airbox in a chart(right through the rev range)- will show if it gives more midrange then too

This is probably a really retarded question but how are you filtering that air as it looks like the pipe goes straight to the MAF sensor!

(Should've listened to you about the grape and grain)

You know, something bothered me about the picture of your airbox bottom - I had a look at mine last night:

Leon Cupra airbox bottom is exactly the same as the LCR one...

Edit : What size is the second "opening" J@mes - possibility for those wanting to fit a second air feed...

yea the car revs slightly better and the DV is louder from outsidfe the car! :)

but since having my 3" DP, 100 cell race cat and 2.75" cat back system fitted on thursday, i can hardly hear the induction or DV now! :( (from inside the car!)

i assume u mean the wierd thing (which is like a blanked off cold air feed hole) which is in the oppersite corner to the air feed hole?

im not sure of the size phil, id gues its about a 3" diameter.

im surprised ur lower box is different to mine... i assume that pic is of ur lower box correct?!

when i first saw this odd thingy, i thought of the possibility of having an extra cold air feed, but to be honest i dont think its worth the hassel for a very minimal gain that you may or maynot get! also surely you woiuld lose some pressure in the box by doing this... which i read was bad thing! plus where could you get the cold air from?

That's the thing, yep. I'm surprised too, I'd have thought they were all the same.

Wonder what it's for

I don't think it's worth adding a second feed either (like you say, loss of pressure, where would you take the feed from).
