The splitter look great. Bit out of place without the Rotas fitted tho lol, the standard wheels make it look kinda tame if you know what I mean.

That I don't know but you would think it would have some sort of warranty if it's genuine vw/tps they have a year warranty on them now 2 moths and 1000 miles isn't acceptable it might be the tensioner that's gone but they all say they have been replaced I even rang them when I brought the car just to double check and said I was worried about it snapping and got told its been done

If its not repaired for free it might be a time to throw a load of low compression bits in for a tubby conversion
Just got hope the heads havnt been damaged as its double cost having two of them

I've got the worst luck going all within 6 months ,

With every thing that's gone on I don't really have the money to rebuild it at my own cost and fit rods and pistons etc not at the mo , obviously with this only just being replaced I thought I had years of enjoyment and worry free from the car , now on a legal side I need to know where I stand so I guess I'm going to have to call trading standards if the garage won't send me a list of parts that have been used so I can make a claim against vw/tps

You don't normally go direct to vw/tps.

Usually the way it works is you put the claim in against the garage that done the work and they claim from their supplier. Their suppliers supplier will then investigate and look at the failed parts to determine warranty etc. Yours being done so recently shouldn't have a problem.

Hope it all gets sorted pronto mate.

I work for Audi and I know that when parts are brought from us or tps and fitted by another garage and the part fails the car has to come back to us and for us to diagnose then possibly do the whole job as a parts warranty claim. If you have receipts for the parts from tps then its possible you will have to take it to a vw dealer to diagnose and fix if those parts are sorted.

Ok awesome at the min I only have the invoice for the work done not the parts but I was going to call the garage and ask them for the receipt of parts used , would that be the best way round it and then call vw ? Or get the garage to make a claim and for me to arrange it to go to my local vw ?

So another update that's just as bad as when I got hit only this ones going to sting my pocket no one else's*

Monday morning I make my way home from the mrs house to go over my mates to fit my coilovers , pull out the tolls car cut out .... **** I stalled .... No car won't start quickly look at the liquid gauge two faults both to do with the two cam position cam sensors , called my mate nick from amd tells me to check a few things , find out chain or some things snapped Fooking great*

Now here's the best part two days before I brought the car the cam chain and tensioners had been replaced I've since done 1000 miles that's it , call the garage who done it said what happend they got the old invoice up says on the part the old owner cut off that warrenty is voide due to the cam shaft gears not being replaced ? (since talking to mate at amd and gaz they have said they don't need changing ) calls back and forth to the garage all day me asking for a parts list of the bits they used so I can claim from vw if it's the tensioner that's gone etc they refused basically said no the warrenty is not on the part it's on who buys it told them no its on the part I've spoken to vw then they said tbh we don't even have to help you .... So I've hunted for the money to fix it a mate has lent it to me the car is going to gaz to be repaired I'm taking it there tomorrow , he's also fitting my helix race clutch and my coilovers and doing a brake fluid flush ,*

So all in all the seller who I got the car from lied to me saying all it needs is an oil and filter change what I done strait away , the garage couldn't care less and wanted rid of it ASAP so I'm going to wait to see what gaz thinks failed . Goes to show you can never trust any one and the garage that done it I've heard bad things from I would never use them worrying thing is they have said they have done another 5 or so R32s since*

When the cars there it's also having forge adjustable tie bars fitted , coilovers , helix clutch

Gutted for you Dan!

There are a lot of MKIV timing chain issues occurring far to often now, many cases on R32OC where VW just don't except liability. It's obviously an age related issue on the tensioner that is in need of a recall by VW.

Hope you can get it all sorted and back on the road, you are due some luck.
