At last, should finish the spraying this weekend. The car is now primed and basecoated but have had trouble with the clear coat, really difficult stuff to use. In the end I decided that the cheapo spraygun from screwfix was the culprit and bought a decent one. It works a treat! Can't wait to finish the paintwork now and put all the body bits back on. Will post some pics on sunday. Off for a beer now.......

Had a good day today, rubbed down the basecoat on entire car, masked off the roof and gave the rest of it 4 clearcoats, only 2 little runs! got the heating on in there now so maybe able to cut the clear coat in a bit later. either that or a few pints of london pride. hmmm.... gonna spray the roof tomorrow

well pleased with the way the paint finish looks. I had to rub down to get a decent shine though. Have taken all day to do the bonnet and one wing ffs, but have got the hang of it now:D. here's a few pics of it so far....

that looks perfect no signs of orange peel there.

There was plenty of orange peel took me all day to rub it down lol not that deep but the clearcoat goes rock hard and its a bit of a job to sand it out, just ordered some 1000 and 2000 grit foam discs for the DA sander; should make the job a bit easier on the rest of the car!

the joys of painting lol. the rubbing down is definatly the worst bit about spraying i love doing the spraying just not the sanding. also you cant beat the smell of thinners.

Here's my drivers door complete with orange peel!! after a brief rub down with 1200 grit wet&dry:

then just keep rubbing, sponging off and drying until all the mottles have gone:

then rub it all down again with 2000 grit wet&dry. I found a brilliant guide to machine polishing, having never done it before. It works!
