Missing features of Ibiza 1.4 Good Stuff

Got my new Seat Ibiza SC 1.4 Good Stuff yesterday from the dealers. :funk:

It's pretty damn awesome to say the least. Still getting my head round all the features and buttons but I've found a few things to be missing. I was told I would be getting a phone call from the sales guy who sold it to me in a few days so will mention them then but thought I would check on here first.

The 'Good Stuff' says it comes with Bluetooth to which I can't seem to find anywhere. The phone icon is missing on the Steering column controls for audio and telephone, so I am guessing it doesn't have this feature.

It also say's in the brochure that it comes with Electrically folding door mirrors. I can't seem to find how to do this as the knob that electrically adjusts the wing mirros is missing the icon on the bottom that the manual says to switch to, to fold them in.

I am waiting for the tom tom and ipod to come through the post and will see if anything to do with bluetooth is in that pack. So what are your thoughts guys? Have a been mislead?

Everything else is perfect though!

mmmm if I were you I would head back to the stealers and and ask immidiately mate. that doesn't sound right at all. I have no bluetooth in my car but I have the phone icon on the wheel mounted controls and I have the folding mirrors which has the little icon at the bottom of the mirror. Have you tried to turn the knob all the way round to see if it works?

Bluetooth consists of a phone icon on the top button of the steering column controls and the middle button between volume up and down, which you pull forward, will have a picture of a microphone on it. When this is pressed, the radio will display 'Speak' and she will expect you to speak a command :) Trying searching on your phone to see if you do have Bluetooth, it will show as SEAT_BT in paired devices if you do :)
As for the folding mirrors, yeah, the icon at the bottom of the mirror adjustment knob folds them, normally twisting all the way round :)

I've done a bluetooth search on my phone and it doesn't find anything.

So if I have been misold this car regarding the missing bluetooth and folding wing mirrors, what are my options, what's a reasonable resolution and what would you do?

I very much doubt a Seat dealership would install these aftermarket, the bluetooth may be a little easier to do but the mirrors would be a pain. The only thing is to either put up with it, or take it back demanding a full refund as it's been mis-sold and see if they can order you the right model or if they can source another one for you.

My brochure is different to that one! It states 'Electrically folding door mirrors' and the billboard poster next to the goodstuff model in the showroom lists bluetooth with the bluetooth logo next to it.

I would take a trip back to the dealers and see your salesman with a drop of menace in your voice if he starts waffling.

Bet it also says somewhere on the poster "Spec may vary" or something along those lines, UK models quite often get different equipment due to different type approval.

We also have just bought one for my wife. Also have the brochure stating electrically folding wing mirrors and bluetooth. There is no sign of the folding wing mirrors in the car (I have it in my leon and know its not there) and the bluetooth for us is an aftermarket nokia hf310 like this which I must say I wasn't expecting.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow and then query it with the dealer.

but it dosnt
as techie said could be a spec may vary, or could just be misprinted

I've taken it to the dealers just now and spoke with the manager, as the guy who dealt with me wasnt in. He did seem concerned about the wing mirrors! said he was going to contact head office tomorrow and get back to me. The bluetooth thing should come with the pack in the post like I thought.

Will have to see what happens...

I still havent heard anything from the dealer. I've e-mailed seat directly and haven't heard from anyone. Might have to show up at the dealers today demanding answers.

I myself had a meeting at the dealers yesterday to discuss the missing wing mirrors, and the fact that the car should have bluetooth, and clearly doesn't, it just comes with a very poor nokia bluetooth speaker.

The outcome? Well, the dealer can't really explain the wing mirrors being missing, but agrees that the bluetooth isn't what they expected, or what they intended us to get when they sold the car to us. For us, the main reason we actually bought the good stuff was because it came WITH the bluetooth. Our other option was to pay to have it fitted to another model, but the good stuff was a better deal.

For those that don't know, the bluetooth supplied is just a combined microphone/speaker. It has feedback, is muffled, and you can't make a call from it without reaching out and actually using your phone and physically pressing buttons. As far as I can tell, according to this, pressing buttons in any way on a hand held communication device while driving isn't legal.

I've been advised to contact Seat head office and so I'm currently searching for an email address for them.

"I've been advised to contact Seat head office and so I'm currently searching for an email address for them. "

So that is all the help your Dealer has offered ?

I had a Golf arrive ( some years ago) with missing electric windows - they phoned me just before I left home to go collect it. Clearly I had a win win situation- came away with a higher discount and the money off for the missing extra option.

I ordered a usb/aux port for mine but when the car arrived it was missing. I was told it would be retro fitted only to find it can't be. I was told by SEAT that I had to deal with the stealers. I sent a rejection letter to them before going on holiday so should hear something soon, hopefully.

I don't see having had one apart why it couldn't be retro fitted. I have all the part numbers of the required bit. Not sure how expensive it's going to be though.

Cheaper than a new car?
