Just wondered if anyone had successfully connected to Mirrorlink (not post May 2015 vehicles with Full Link) yet and if so what phone are you using?

Hi.

I haven't got much further. I changed my phone to a Galaxy Alpha. See post #120 from the topic link in post #48 above. Plus post #104 in reference to the A3 and Alpha.

If your car has the MIB2 unit like mine you can upgrade to Android Auto, sounds better than mirrorlink but as your will see from the other topic even AA has mixed opinions.

Frustrating and I haven't yet made a decision!

Agreed a newer list of compatibility would be great. More info generally really.

I just got bad news, my 1.5 month old Cupra ST 290 has this full link menu available, but activation is 400€... specially sad part (for me) is that in my country some 290 (before mine) had arrive with full link activated. They said that ordering it with the car would have cost 200€... but they did not offer it to me.. I was able to read in reviews that 290 already had the full link in stock.

Which country? My MY2016 280 had the menu and it cost me about €250 to activate the software. 210 was the activation key and 40 the USB port which needs to change. I don't know if SEAT changed policy for the 290s but there's no reason to have done something like that. Do you want to ask a few different dealers?

I am in Estonia. When ordering a car they have it in the list for 200€, but retrofiting it afterwards is 400€.

My current USB connector is 5Q0 035 726G and the AUX/USB housing is 5G0 035 222F, the radio unit is MIB STD2 ZR+/NAV 5QA 035 834.

I ordered the new USB connector 5Q0035726E and actiavion via VCDS is done by a friend (to say the unit that the new type of USB is connected). Maybe some new USB cable needed too lets see. That's how is possible to save 370€ :D (Lets hope it goes as planned).

After discussions with people in Spain and Germany it appears that retrofitting to MY13,14 is possible but at a expense that makes it virtually stupid to do.

Shame really, still if they were too future proof we wouldn't buy another one.

@eggy did you make activation of fulllink trought vcds?

I have installed the new USB connector, we tried to activate it using VCDS (byte 19 if I remember correctly) but no change. It was a bit older version of the sw, so there were no coding yet, but we did not notice any change. I will receive my own cable soon and can try it with the latest VCDS. In the menus there is still the Full-link activation notice visible. :/

We tried this part.We did not see any information about the USB (only bits) and it is actually from German Golf7 forum, the unit should be quite the same/similar.
