the only thing bothering me is i have a custom AmD remap, i dont know if they have to play with the map when changing the exhaust to get the best power!! guess i should ask them then!!!

it will fit, just the oval will sit off centre, but a exhaust place should be able to line up quite well, pm me for a price mate

It will also be worth an ECU reset (something I would recommend every so often). Just disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Should feel a bit more eager afterwards.

Who knows, probably not too much in it but a mufflerectomy sounds too much like a bodge job to me. I'm sure performance exhaust manufacturers don't spend millions of pounds on exhaust design just for the hell of it though.

IMO have the job done properly with specific kit.

I had a non-resonated (no first silencer), cat back Milltek fitted today to the Leon. It all looks good, sounds a bit deeper and a little throatier at higher revs but on the whole the quality of the Milltek shows through by a mile. The only hassle I had was finding an exhaust place who would fit an aftermarket exhaust. In the end a local independant did it for £35. Not too bad as they had to cut the original std pipe off as it was a 1 piece from the cat back and with the car lowered it wouldn't go over the rear axle easily. It was rotted anyway so it didn't matter as it was already only fit for the bin.

3rd replacement screen to be fitted tomorrow, brake disks and pads next week, clutch early in the new year, plus rear shocks and tyres. Why do all these things always come at once eh ?

If its a rear wheel baring check that your rear tyres aren't worn unevenly. Cos my shocks have had it, my rear tyres are a wearing so that as you go round the wheel (not across it) the tread varies in depth. This makes a noise very similar to a wheel baring on its way out.

only 205 bhp , strugers1 has nearly got that on standard 130 turbo

Millteks will sometimes lower the bhp figures on a generic map.

Has anyone any proof of this statement? I have a resonated system complete with larger d/pipe de-cat sitting waiting to go on but have a generic map.

The custom remap does take the exhaust into account however even if you upgrade the ECU will do most of the adaptation.

Incorrect statement that they lower BHP. They are more free flowing exhausts with larger bores so it wont lower BHP especially for Diesels.

The statement can be true - a generic map is designed based on the STANDARD cars characteristics.

Although potencially a bigger exhaust will help no end the map is designed to make the most out of the standard car.

In terms of lowering BHP it means that a custom map would make the most of the exhaust where as the generic isnt designed for it.
