Resonated is the quiter option. It sounds almost standard with the Cat on be now with de-cat it sounds only a bit throatier.

Power figures, I wouldn't have a clue as did not RR before and after.

I would recommend Milltek is they are very well made (you do pay for it of course though)

i have been told that the set up of my car (power) is being held back by the standard exhaust and a de cat miltec system would free up up to 15 more horsies!! i would just like it a bit noisy!!!

The systems are quite quiet. There are a few videos on youtube. Why not go for a mufflerectomy and save some money though? i asume your turbo isnt a hybrid? 2.5'' boxless turbo back without cat.

I doubt you will see anywhere near 15bhp on a derv just from exhaust though. Maybe with custom mapping.

Millteks will sometimes lower the bhp figures on a generic map.

Na, not a hybrid! the only reason AmD recon il get 15 more BHP is because of all the work they already did lol! the cats breaking up anyways!!!!

i quite like the idea of a mufflerectomy!! sounds pretty noisy to me!!! just to find somewhere to do it...!!!

Any custom exhaust place will do it :). I have 2.25'' straight through catback. It has a good note on acceleration and sounds good on the outside but is barely noticable inside. Pulled good figures on the dyno with it so its not that bad. Though i am going to go 2.5 straight through i think. Just hope it doesnt get annoying, so il keep both exhausts lol.

Pipecraft in basildon mate, get mufflerectomy and remove your cat, they will charge around 160 for all the work, pm me for their number mate, I'm up there tommorow cause my full miltek is just so quiet and that's decat downpipe and non resonated, so I'm keeping the downpipe and getting them to join onto my downpipe and straight through pipe with no back box, do my option mate, you won't regret ;)

Haha, you know mate, only thing is you have a silencer on the downpipe, I ain't so mine is different :p
Yep that's right because I tested the different systems and found that the center silencer flowed better and let more noise out. its all in my thread. :)

i got 2.5 turbo back and it is loud..
i rolling roaded my car at 194bhp which pulled away from my mates 170bhp ibiza tdi he got his cat removed an no joke he pulle away with ease from me...
i then got my cat removed and i then pulle away from him,a length in each gear i think you can easily gain 10bhp with removing the cat and getting a ecent zorst

I have a turbo back unresonated Miltec on my Golf 130 PD, it sounds well. Not like a boy racer, just tuned, I drove 700 miles through France this summer crusing on their motorways at 80 - 90 without it being tire some. When I had it remapped the power was 142bhp & 260 lbs/ft, I know PDs have a higher power output than is claimed by VW but it is still a good reading. Removing the cat allowed the turbo to spool up sooner therfore the car pulls from lower revs in a gear.
