This has happened since I changed the intercooler yes mate, and also two other silicon hose pipes, one goes from the FPR to the underside of the inlet manifold, the other comes off this part I can't describe, but I have checked all connections and they seem secure. No bubbles when I checked for leaks with soapy water

I will go and get a couple pictures and post them back here in a min

I had to fit a reducer on the inlet and outlet as my intercooler pipework is 2.5 inch and the inlet/outlet on the cooler is 2.25

The inlet and outlet on the new cooler aren't great tbh, was a pain getting the reducers to secure without sliding off.

I'll give that a try Adam a mate of mine did suggest that but I didn't know if it'd be good for the car.

If it's not that then I might fit the old intercooler on for the time being see if that cures it, before I spend any more money.

Been a great help gents will keep you posted on my findings.

James just a thought, the pipework from the turbo outlet is reduced so why doesn't that cause problems?

its reduced smaller into larger dan, the pressure comes from the turbo into smaller pipe into larger pipe, your reduction is higher flow into smaller flow reducers, could cause a bottle neck with the larger diameter air forcing through smaller diameter pipework

i agree probably wont see a 7psi boost pressure drop just from this, but funny how it happened soon as the cooler was fitted.

if all clamps are tight and no leaks, id be thinking this could be an issue.

dan, on the dv have you tested the piston to see if it holds under pressure?
