Afternoon all, can anyone help me?
Over the last few weeks I've noticed the biting point of the clutch has been ridiculously low, most noticeably when pulling away in the morning or leaving work after the car's been standing.
It's literally been to the point where i lift my foot 1cm off the floor and the car moves. The clutch has also gone very 'snatchy' - there's next to no movement between the clutch being disengaged and engaged - it's either on or off, so engine braking is impossible.
The car drives perfectly apart from that - once warmed up (literally after 1 min) the clutch point moves up, but still seems very low. Absolutely no slippage on the clutch, and the clutch pedal itself still moves up and down with the same feel as normal. No issues with gears either.
Obviously its booked in for tomorrow to have it looked at - when it was serviced a month back they noticed it had around 5% water in the brake fluid so I'm having the brakes and clutch bled (they use the same resevoir) to see if this sorts it and have it generally looked over.
I've had a search and only found one similar result which was down to the master clutch cylinder - hoping its this at worst as it's not a major issue getting that replaced.
Anyone else had this?
