What guiderail? what is that?

I wont cause any damage to the gearbox or anything else. All in essence its doing is reducing your leverage.

I'd recommend this product also, have fitted a fair few for customers and would rate these well ahead of the B+M gear lever which is alot more envolved to fit.

For the 02M six speed box only as far as I know, looking to get one for the Fabia shortly.

wot about alongside the B&M?? any benefits??

As far as the greasing if you imagine the letter "U" and its fallen to the right (what a crap analogy!!) you stick the grease in there, but to be honest with 10k on the clock on mine there was loads of grease there anyway.

If in doubt call Awesome and they can tell you what you need as far as the model number etc

I'm not sure myself, but it's one of the TT ones. AFAIK the difference is in the cable mount. One is for a ball stud type cable mount and the others for a pin type cable mount.

For the Cupra R, I'm hoping it's the TT/R32 one, because I've ordered one...

There's another thread around here somewhere with a link from Awesomeade to the correct part.

Not sure what year your's is but both are for the TT.

One is for a ball stud type cable mount and the others for a pin type cable mount. I'm gonna check mine beforehand.
I'd remove your stock shift cable from the factory selector shaft bracket and confirm which one it is.

Hmm.

I think I really want a shortshifter. I love the shorter throw you get on RWD sporty cars, and although with a linkage you never quite get the feel of the gearstick running directly into the box, I reckon 50% less throw sounds good..

But 158 squids for a small bit of cast metal ??

I have searched the forum and there are references to other short shifters. Is the neuspeed really the only one worth going for ? Call me Mr Tight Bstrd but it seems rather steep..

Olly.
.

Edited to add: Looking for a Leon shortshifter...

Its the right one you have ordered. There are 2 types as mentioned ball type stud and the pin type stud. The one to go for is the pin type stud as for the late TT's and R32.

If you're bothered about the cost, there's always the original dieselgeek short shifter:

http://www.dieselgeek.com/337Sport_S.htm

With "outside US" shipping, the race one (with side to side reduction) is £80 (I don't know if there are any import taxes to pay?).

These seem to get good comments on VWVortex, does anyone on here have direct experience?
