Took 2 mins to fit

Before:

and after

The result? Well I was told it makes it feel like a Scooby, but having never driven one I'd say it feels like driving a Caterham 7, gear change wise anyway! Supposed to reduce the throw between gears by 30-50% and I think its spot on. Its scary but it seems to encourage you to fly through the gears! Will take some getting used to but I'll give it a :D

Don't want to sound like a retard!

What is it?
What does it do?
Where does it go?
Is it for you 'R' owners only?
How much?

gear shortshifter
reduces throw front to back by around 30 - 50 % (not side to side)
on top of the gearbox as the pic
if you have a 6 speed leon it will fit yours
depends not cheap £140-£160 depends on where from

russ u get it from awesome?or find it cheaper than anywhere than the recent groupbuy

Yep from Awesome, missed out on the group buy, but by mentioning www.seatcupra.net I got 10% off anyway. Was delivered within 24 hours of order as well, which is excellent as they said within 48 :) . It came to me at £158 including VAT and delivery. Normally should be about £175 all in

Very easy to swap back, 1 clip and 1 13mm nut, thats it. I think its impossible to fit incorrectly as well due to the excellent design.

Has it reduced the wobble on the gearstick? or even cured it?

Certainly has

I've got used to mine now and it's fantastic... I'm sure it's a 50% reduction. At first the change is stiffer and the gears are more difficult to find, give it a week and you're completely at home and won't go back to standard. My car has been into several dealers and they haven't mentioned it at all.

I guess you would both highly recommend this product?

Probably a daft question but is the short-shifter likely to cause any long term problems to the gearbox or clutch?

Also is the two minutes to fit the whole job or did you have to remove other things to get to fitting place and then two minutes to fit?

Its late. If I sound dumb its tiredness!

I wont cause any damage to the gearbox or anything else. All in essence its doing is reducing your leverage.

I'd recommend this product also, have fitted a fair few for customers and would rate these well ahead of the B+M gear lever which is alot more envolved to fit.

For the 02M six speed box only as far as I know, looking to get one for the Fabia shortly.

You may have to remove your airbox, which will add a couple of minutes. I've got a Dynatwist so I didnt have to bother

I think Tom.everett, Leo and Pete all said they didn't have to take the airbox off. Do a search for 'short shift'...
