those fiats i believe have a really quick 0-60 time. something like 6.5 secs.. so i would have thought wuld beat a LCR.
I've been in a standard 106GTI and kept up with a standard 225 LCR.
But when they are chipped its a different story.

Through 1st gear maybe! A standard LCR isn't much slower than my chipped Ibiza and I was sooooooo much quicker than my mates standard 106 gti it was funny

Yeah I used to have a 106 Rallye 16v, decatted etc and my LCR would eat it for breakfast. 1st gear the 106 was better though + had better traction.

The 20V Turbo's are fast, my brothers got one but as he's currently banned from driving it's a bit difficult to do a comparison. I might see if I can take it out for a spin some time this weekend then I'll report back. ;)

i would have to disagree i think standard vs standard the lcr would waste it especially 70mph onwards
Don't think so mate. They are 220 bho and weigh about 100kgs less than a LCR. More importantly, they are still classed as probably the fastest standard FWD car on the market, with 0-100 time of 14.5 secs.... So LCR wasting it will not happen...

ok but its not all about the bhp its torgue aswell, what box has the fiat got? what rpm does the power kick in ect ect. ive raced a couple and dont rate them at all ok all be it not a "drag race"

my dad used to have the 20V turbo and I drove that for 6 months before the LCR, in all honesty there isn't a lot in it between standard cars, I think they have slightly better traction than the LCR (fiats have an LSD) but aren't actually as strong through the gears, they have more torque low down but not so much power and torque at high revs

The thing with the FIAT is they have a really aerodynamic shape which helps 0-60 times etc. Most Coupes you see on the road now have will have been modified in some shape or form so a standard vs standard would be hard to carry out. The coupe was a nice / differnt looking car when it came out but I think they look a bit dated now.

He has a point here but the more important thing is the actual on road performance. Having seen a std 210 vs revo'd LCR on the road the differences are not that great - chipped car will pull away but slowly - they do have an edge past 120ish to 140ish then again a steady climb provided no limp etc.. or heat issues. Also I'd say a lot of cars from around the 180 - 300 bhp mark are not all that different in a straight line - ok the higher powered ones will pull away but it's not as if they're leaving you standing.

Try a LCR against an SL65AMG as I did once - that left me like I was in reverse.

As for the Fiat - great little car and pretty quick as well, good buy provided its in good condition and has been looked after.

Nail on head Neil.

You and I (and you and Vennuth) have compared chipped to standard LCR and I pulled away but it was like you were stood still and I pulled away at slow walking pace....nothing more

A chipped / remapped LCR has about an extra 30/40bhp and making that show is difficult.....and that's according to revo's literature

You need massive power advantages to make a difference.

The Fiat and the LCR would be close (Chipped or not)

The fiat is no slouch by any means. Their party piece is mid range grunt where they have it in bucket loads. There was a video on here before posted by someone who had a black revo'd LCR ( sorry can't remember the name but don't think he's been on here for a while ) at Santa pod filmed from inside. You could see the fiat still by the side of the LCR until after about 3/4 of the way down the strip.

If they are chipped then these coupe's are running 300bhp and that will make a chipped LCR work hard to match it.
