MY conversion!

Okay its taken an awfull long time, but its almost finished!

As for cost-i got my front bumper from a breaker, approx £200, then grilles and fogs for the bumper where £290  Got the skirts from ebay @£70!!

I got the entire front end resprayed-bonnet, bumper and wings, along with skirts, and some colour coding-this set me back around £400

And im yet to get a back bumper....but since they're around £300+vat from seat....and you also need the towing eye cover-thats another £7-im trying to get one elsewhere!

ANYWAYS- what ya'll think...for a tdi?

Leon Cupra 1.8T 20v 180
Well the bumpers i got off ebay, i paid 150 for front and 90 for rear, painting was £120 for both but i know the guy who did them, the guides and bits needed cost around another £160 roughly, but i didn't bother with the fog lights as they are silly money, have bought a universal kit with quite similar shaped fogs for £20 at GTI International

Hope that helps :) be prepared to pay around £200 for spraying the bumpers though, could be more i don't know

I cant believe how expensive those grills and fogs are probably best if i try and find a complete one although seem to be fewer on the likes of ebay than i thought there would be.

pjmdevo - that looks really smart how much you lowered yours by and with what stuff?

Thanks-Only down 40mm at the minute, on lowering springs. Rollin' on 19'' Toora T250's :) Seeking a set of coilovers too. But things dont happen very quickly on a students budget :(:(

The thread title 'fitting guide' is a 'How To...'

but yeah, if you look at the picture on page 1 - items 2,3 & 4 'bumper guides' are required to fit a MY03 Cupra bumper or LCR bumper to the pre-facelift cupra (or indeed a 1.4, 1.6 or any Toledo)

I have created a page on my personal website purely for the removal of the mk1 Cupra front and rear bumpers, and the fitting of Cupra R bumpers
There are plenty of detailed pictures and a parts lists for the bits necessary for fitting the new bumpers

It also contains the steps for fitting a Forge Front Mounted Intercooler

Hope this helps, please leave comments at the bottom of the page, or if you have a query :D
