Leon Alarm Setting ??

I'm not sure if this is the right board for this so if it's not, admin feel free to move it, if not..

Can any one tell me if it's possible to program the alarm on a 2002 Leon Cupra to chirp when setting/unsetting the alarm, as mine doesn't do this, and hasn't since I got it, in fact i'm not even sure if it's supposed to as standard as it doesn't mention the "chirp" in the handbook.

Also does anyone know if it's possible to remotely set off the alarm to sound via the key remote, again there's no advice in the handbook about this.

If either of the above is possible am I going to either have to get it done a SEAT dealers or need a laptop and a copy of VAG.COM.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, especially getting the alarm to "chirp" when setting/ unsetting, as I'm never sure if the alarm is set or the doors are locked or not..

Thanks Jez..

On the LCR the indicators flash when the car is locked/unlocked. does this not happen on the LC

no chirp on the LCR either and I believe that this is banned through the european law due to noise pollution or sumat silly like that

Tbh yes the winkers do indeed flash, but it would be nice to have the little audible chirp as a backup, if it's at all possible.

On my last car a couple of years ago I had a Laser line alarm fitted, and it "chirped" when setting/unsetting, so i was hoping this might be poss on the Leon, if not i guess i can live with it !!!

There are a few threads about this in the VAG-COM forum... that's where I got the info to do it myself ;)

Chirps twice when you unlock and once when you lock :)

It's a definite different noise, it's not the horn (as in road rage horn on steering wheel) but the alarm chirping. It's just a chirp, not a blast from the horn or anything... there really is no better word for it than chirp

Retail only. The free version only gives you access to some fault code reading and some basic logging. The ability to change and adapt modules comes with the full version.

Some of the eBay cables are fine. I've got one from alpha_bid that works perfectly with the full version. And bear in mind with the current exchange rate, the full version is much cheaper than normal at the moment ;)

That's the route I went down, worked out around £50 when I bought it. Damn good product too, and £50 spent on that is worth much more than any other £50 mod I've fitted too :)

i like the idea of being able to run an auto scan and run all fault codes....

the shareware version works fine with my alpha bid cable, does that mean the full version def. will? i dont wanna waste £50!

No reason why it wouldn't, since the software is the same. You just unlock the locked features when you pay for the licence, you don't install any different software or anything. Plus, I'm using the alpha cable, so can't imagine it's any different to yours.
