mine smokes a bit when pedal is just over half way, as you have SS intercooler and cat bypass already yours should not be as smokey as mine. Guy at Jabba said they help to clean it up a bit. its fun when you get motorbikes tailgating you to overtake just floor it and they eat diesel fumes lmao.

What colour smoke? And what kind sound does it make?

Sorta diesel colour. It doesnt smell like oil or anything. Just smells like normal diesel smoke. And looks the same! It doesnt do it all the time, only when letting off the throttle occassionally and when throttling up sometimes.

But it's not mapped right for the turbo yet.

I'll be fine! I had a few problems with the turbo and it was nearly a no go for the hybrid again! :-o But i managed to worm my way out of work, go to the garage where it was being fitted and do it myself! Got finished at 7 o clock tonight.

It is quite smoky at the moment though - but my god does the turbo sound nice :D I think the bad smoke is due to the mapping being all wrong for the turbo.

what was wrong with the turbo?

i assume its black smoke?

The turbo is fine as far as I know!

The only problem was, when the turbo was fitted, the outlet wouldnt match up with the intercooler pipework. You have to loosen off 6 8mm bolts and twist the impellor housing so it'll line up with the intercooler pipework! I didnt know this until dinner time though - then it was a mad rush!

And yeh, the smoke is black. Not thick black, just enough to be able to see it. It doesnt do all the time - which to me means there are no turbo/oil problems as it'd be doing it all the time if it was?

I'll find out tomorrow if it still does it after mapping. :)

Just had a txt off Ash as he has just had the mapping finished.

Results were 240.9bhp and 380lb/ft

Very impressive! Hopefully he'll be taking it to another dyno somewhere else to independently confirm these results? I've learned the hard way not to put too much trust solely in the dyno results of the person your paying to do the mapping, after all they've got a vested interest in showing you the results you want to see.

I know that once my hybrid is mapped again I'll be getting completely independent confirmation of the figures just to be sure. (by the way this is in no way a comment on whoever has done Ash's mapping as they may well be the most honest and trust worthy person in the world)

On the subject of the smoke, when I fitted my hybrid I got lots of grey smoke whenever I was at low revs and light/medium throttle, TD's response was that it was down to the mapping being wrong for the turbo as these hybrids take a fair bit longer to spool up than standard and so in that in-between period when your getting the revs up the engine is actually overfuelling for the available boost and the smoke is the unburned diesel. This would appear to be correct as once I get it above 2000rpm the smoke disappears completely.

Mine doesnt do that! It was 240.9bhp and 380ft/lb but Paul at RS cut it back a bit as it was far too smokey - even now though it's far too smokey. Im off back tomorrow for him to tweak it again. The smoke atm is unreal. You look out the back window when booting it and the cars behind are coming through black fog! The back end of the car, the first 3 letters on the number plate are unreadable. And i've done 50-60 miles? Not even giving it that much stick.

good result mine had 235bhp but like your was way way to smokey was worried police would pull me over so backed it off till it was only bit smokey hence 217bhp you should be able to get 220 -225bhp with less smoke on yours cause you have cat bypass pipe and ss intercooler thats what guys at jabba were saying
