I dont no!it could be a number of things!! going to the garage 2day!!

I noticed a clicking sound coming from my engine only heard it though, when was stood still,
got the garage to take a look, and it was supposedly, if i remember the name right charcoal collector? supposedly help lower emissions. Had it checked was working fine,seemed quieter though after they messed with it, could be that perhaps??

Been to VW today and spoke to a mechanic who told me that the noise was the "Active Charcoal Collecter". Speaking to him about it he told me that this was also causing the noise under accleration aswel as the tappy noise on idle and that it was nothing to worry about.

He also confirmed that the tappets were normal. With both noises it seemed to be more of engine characteristics rather than actual problems... nice to put my mind at rest though!

I think with both noises alot of people wouldn't even noitce them, but I'm just a bit cautious and like to make sure its ok!
