Breif and to the point[B)]

I since sold the Ibiza & bought a Cordoba and today fitted a jetex system to it;)

It wasn't cheap but its what I wanted in an exhaust system - good fit, looks good and not noisy

Fair enough Stu - when that Jetex has rusted through - give me a shout ;)

To any others out there - we can't help you if you don't let us know we have a problem!

Hmmm - seem to think they build them in mild - or at best 409 SS (add's up the same as any one running a two year old Mitsubishi Evo FQ will tell you!!!)

RUST!

ahh reason i say mate is that i went from a 2 1/8 to a 2 1/4 system on the leon (power is up !!) and wondered why go so far as a 2.5inch setup on a n/a. the exhaust fitter that did mine owns a 320 brake volvo turbo and his isnt even quite a 2.5 inch diameter.

i had the same problems as scotty with my mk2 ibiza cupra sport 8v, rjm in glenrothes fitted it and i was back three times having my rear vallance trimmed, which it had melted , when they said to come back in and trim the back again i put my foot down, the rate we were going i'd have had no bumper left. nothing wrong with the quality of the exhaust, it just didn't fit the car properly. i ended up putting a supersprint system on, better, but to be honest i've yet to fit an aftermarket exhaust that fits as good as the original system, if they did i wouldn't hesitate to put one on my lcr

What some folk fail to take into account (even us in the industry from time to time) is that stainless steel expands and lengthens when hot - bends also open up sometimes which give rise to valance burning in extreme examples.

That said I can only think of one other instance when this happened & it was put right before the exhaust went into production - up till earlier I had no idea this was potentially an issue for us on this application.

The mani I got is around 2.5" so bought a system & cat to suit it throughout

Had a 6 x 4 oval on my 16v cupra sport and it made my life a misery:cry:

It did drone on the motorway but once i got it past 4000 rpm it was pretty much silent so wasnt to bothered about that.

What did my head in was the bracket just behind the cat. Cause the exhaust was so heavy it sagged on to the bracket and made a horrible noise.

I spent about 2 years with it in and out of garages, nothing ever fixed it for more than 2 months before it would sag again and hit the bracket.

Eventually i had enough and got stealth systems in southampton to make me a custom exhaust for about 400 quid and i ditched the magnex. my new one is ace:funk: its sounds better than the magnex and it doesnt hit or vibrate on anything.

I would never but a magnex or any other make again as its easier and less hassel to get one custom made:cloud9:
