Thanks.

No I'm just a guy with a "start, and see where it ends" mentality:D And so far it turns out pretty good:happy:

No mechanical experiance at all.

The right side of the car is done. Only some black wrap between the windows.

And than, with 2 more panels done, the car is almost finished. The drivers doors (yes left hand drive) needs to be done and the bumpers.

Finished the rear bumper so the whole car is complete now. Planned to give the car this saturday a special treatment for the wrap. Special sealant and cleaner.

Very good project!! Really like it! What do you think about Cupra R interior door covers and full electric windows and mirrors conversion?

Thought about that but you need al de window motors, all the locking motors and the comfort module with the same number. And thats hard to find.

Did two relative bigger projects last 2 weeks. First was the engine. Took the engine out and replaced all the bits on the engine. Had some cooling leaks. Couldn't drive 6 miles without filling up the coolant.

Second project was the climate control conversion. Broke a lever on the manual aircobox. Thought it was an easy job to replace only the aircobox but turned out not to be. So decided, when the complete interior was out, to place a climate control. So everything out.

New parts in.

And testing.

Got one rubbish photo how it looks now, without the glovebox in. Instal the glovebox this evening and take better pictures.

After cleaning the interior, I gave the outside a quick wash en took some new pictures with the sun going down. Love the effect.

Car looks great it pulls off the colour perfectly and doesn't look out of place. How hard was wrapping and i want to wrap my roof and rear spoiler. Not sure if I should try it or pay for it to be done

It's not hard compared to a front or rear bumper:)

There are lots of videos on youtube with how to's. And if you buy the right film (with air channels) than its not that hard. With the air channels the film is actualy paper. Peels of realy easy but when its applied with presure it stays on. And with the air channels you have very little chance of getting air bubbles underneath because it can escape true the channels. If you do the spoiler, do it in 2 pieces. The upperside and underside. Otherwise you overstretch the film and it won't stick properly. When everything is applied heat all the film to 100 degrees so it stays in the shape of the spoiler and roof. Thats it realy.

Thanks for the tips. I'll look into the wrap with air channels didn't know they did it. Only problem I have is no access to a garage so would have to wait for perfect weather. Which could take a long time lol

You can remove the spoiler and wrap inside :p The roof is not removeble. Lol:D But dry weather between 15 and 25 degrees is good. For a nice finish, the roof is a 2 man job. You can peal the complete backingsheet of and lay the wrap over the complete roof. Gives the best result because you can put some tention on the film from all the edges.
