IPOD Cable

Hi
I had a cable ordered from my local seat dealership. My husband fitted it, it works through the stereo instead of a cd multichanger. I just put my ipod on shuffle and then operate it through the steering wheel controls. Or you can set up playlists so you can then change them using the cd multichanger buttons. My husband drilled mine through the cupholder so you don't have to mess about in the glovebox all the time. Been really pleased with it.
Think it cost about £80-£90

Don't think i explained myself very well! Basically instead of the cd multichanger its the ipod. then the buttons on your dash (1-6 on my leon) you can set up to 6 playlists on your ipod and then use the buttons to alter the playlist from the ipod. hope this makes sense?!

I've tried all ipod generations with my Media In cable, and can confirm that all work. including the latest Nano, although I've not tried all of them in my standard factory dock (basic 6 playlist job) under the drivers seat. :)

I have the following cable fitted to my cupra

i have added playlists on both my ipods (ipod touch and nano).

When selecting cd/aux it only gives me the CD inserted or the aux option, nothing else... the ipod works in the aux slot on a different 3.5mm cable but not in this socket. can anyone help me on this please? how will i make sound come out and control through the steering wheel?

Hi, been on the phone today to get some info before i order my facelift FR and the dealer said that the iPod cable is seperate but isn't available till about december and is about £60...

hope this helps.

According to the Seat website there is a now a part number available so going to try and see if that's what we need for the facelift models and if it is I'll be buying one asap :D

Why don't the CDC option come up?

you can only have either the aux in, or the usb, or the ipod dock, or the ipod cable, or the cd multicanger, as they all use the same input to the headunit.

if your aux in is working then i dont think it is possible to have another connected.

nickp's media in is by far the best solution.

i'd try to trace the cable and see what (if anything) its connected to.

maybe the previous owner had it connected to an aftermarket head unit and put the oem one back in when they traded the car.

True, I might even wait till I get the log book back and trace down the guy to see what he did, if he would help. There is a hole where the lead comes from in the front cup holder, wouldn't I have to take the centre out to see where the wire comes from?

Spoke to SG Petch in Durham today and they could see it on the system but it was on backorder but the chap did say he could place an order for one but no idea when it would I would actually get it!

So rang Alexandra Bridge in Sunderland spoke to a helpful chap who made some calls and came back with a bit more info saying that the cable would be available at the factory in Mid-August so would probably be available for dealers to order sometime in early September. So looks like a bit of a wait but hopefully only a few weeks :)

CHEAP OPTION - using the aux in i'm guessing works.
