Scotty_B's got Revo, I wonder how much the upgrade to Stage 3 would cost him

Same as it cost me. The difference between 3 & 2 off the Revo site.

Or even try APR stage 3 code! Thats what I've been told the yanks have been doing with the GTRS eliminator!

It may even run better low down with stage 3 as it requests lower values so may help prevent the spiking issues abit!

I'm not getting any spikes, Sie.

No, he means spiking with the Imolavirus.

@Sie - I didn't think you could get APR Stage3 Code on it's own, or do you get "special favours"? Plus, APR's GT28RS is a different (bigger) turbo isn't it? Mind you, still probably run, just need the fuelling altered...

I'm sure it was you that told me that!

Have a word, see what they say. Zboyd's there tomorrow, you could say "Hi!"

The guys at VAG tech were in contact with REVO most of the time whilst they had my car, they suggested taking the actuator off as the code wasn’t designed to have the "tweak-a-bility" of the actuator, maybe with a custom code the actuator will work well.

With regard to stage 3, revo's basic answer was it wasn’t worth it as there was enough in the stage 2 to cover my tubby. I really do want a custom code but that will be after new inlet and exhaust manifold (yeah i know there not very good for £/bhp but hey). Just saving up the 3k now to pay for it

I shall be doing some further tweaking and logging soon. Hopefully this weekend!

Yes Sie, been using the 50hp jets a while now. Runs very well :)

I blame a faulty N75 for my surging problems, not actuator.

Carl, what kind of measurement is your rod at?

17mm standard. (Mines at 20mm at moment) What is yours at?

25mm total. (an extra 8mm added from stock)
Tweak it up a bit mate. ;)

Go for it mate, more than one way to skin a cat.
Personally i'm aiming for 320bhp with the following future mods:- high flow inlet manifold, large bore tip, water/methanol injection and custom remap. hopefully the exhaust manifolds may come down in price.

Yes and no. I feel ive got more of a daily driver car. Most of the guys that have driven it (mechanics etc) have said they much prefer the way my car is to the IHI etc they have done as its not too OTT.

I was wondering about water/methanol injection carl but how much will that help as my FMIC does its job too perfection. Mind you i still want to bolt a small fridge unit to my air box!

Thats my view as well scotty! It still drives like stock, 6th gear and you can have full boost by 2,500 rpm I doubt you'll get that with IHI! And to be honest i reckon and probably not far off 320bhp now! Since fitting the exhuast mani it has been flying!

Stop tempting me with the extra performance of your mani. :banned: :)

I don't know too much about it to be honest but from what I've read its all to do with timing advance and lowering of knock CF's. [B)]

I've read on vortex that some guys run vtune @120 & 130% boost, I may try upping the boost to 112% and see what happens.
With regards the spiking issues it really annoys me that the software when running extra boost will request boost levels of 2550 mb however the max our map sensor can read is 2540mb. This is a major issue as our turbos will boost like a mofo in an effort to reach the unatainable boost level for the next 3000rpm until the requested drops to 2540 mb or below. Why can't the software be capped to say 2500mb peak, which will then allow us to increase boost at the red line without silly boost levels else where in the range.
I almost ordered a manual boost controller until i realised that all it would do is vent the boost to prevent high levels reaching the engine, it won't prevent the turbo overboosting in the first place. The only way to avoid this decent mapping. But @£500 I could be half way to buying a mani

Some more logs tonight @ 110% Vtune boost. midrange boost has increased but redline is slightly down. How do you think my fueling looks. OAT was 17 degs for ref.
