Just thought id share progress.
I've tweaked another 1mm and i'm getting there slowly. What i've also seen is that she's spooling as early as stock now where as before it was quite laggy.
I'm also surprised to see the intercooled air reaching 39 degrees, for ref outside air was 17degs. The PA intercooler should help here.

Getting there mate, your keeping over 1.54bar boost for well over 1000rpm mid range (3360-4520 at very least)

How much over 1.54bar though? You got a gauge? Is it 1.8bar at 3360 dropping to 1.54 bar at 4520?

Think mines holds 1.54+ (limit of map sensor) from 3200-4700.

1.1 bar at 6000+ is ok, only really 0.15bar behind. FMIC might help that out.

I think i need to plumb a decent dash mount boost gague in to measure how high this spike is, any recomendations. Yep i'm hoping the fmic will benefit the set up. The car feels very strong now and i'm happy that i have at least equalled the same boost pressures as my stock set up.

Getting there carl! I have done some logging this morning think will post some up later. Looks like the Wastegate is still letting go around 5500 prm as the wastgate duty cycle jumps from 85% to max!

39'C sounds about right Carl. FMIC will not reduce it by much! I'll post my block 118 to compare IATs.

Looking good Sie, Thats holding boost well at the limiter. Must be pulling very strong.
I´ll tweak more on the weekend hopefully.
You were right about the intake temps.

Is that a standard APR Stage 2 "boost profile" though? I know what I'm trying to describe (but not sure if it's called "boost profile" - the onset of boost/N75 duty seems quite low from 3300-5000 rpm where it used to spike like a bieatch.

Almost like it could make more boost, if top end didn't suffer...

I didn't start the run untill 3k but it still spikes around 1.8BAR before it comes back to 1.5 obviously you can't see that on VAG-COM

It will boost more low down if the N75 allowed it but you can see it stays around 85%

Question about the actuator

My Turbodynamics turbo blew after about 10k. This was the reply from Turbodynamics when I tried to get this on warranty:

"The preload on the actuator is set from the
manufacturers specifications and re-set to factory settings when we build the
unit and under no circumstances should be changed"

Is this correct? And also, the claimed that even thoug my boost gauge showed 1,4bar of boost the turbo pruduced much higher figures due to the tampering with the actuator... Is this possible?!

The things is with using a compressor heavy turbo is that the back pressure on the turbo side increases so if you use the factory preset value for the wastegate tensioner then the wastegate will blow open. Even with the turbines clipped back slightly on our hybrids the back pressure is still enough to blow open the wastegate.

If your boost gauge is showing 1.4 bar then thats the value of boost. Whether there is any left in the turbo depends.

Actuator

So to get more boos I need to tighten the preload to the actuator? I read that 2-3mm should be enough.

Will this prevent the WG to blow open?

The question is how can you be sure yours is blowing open. After all its a different hybrid!

We only realised that ours were because certain people couldn't reach the level of boost being achieved by others with the same turbo!

one way to find out, but at your risk

you would expect to see a creep in N75 duty cycle when it started to push open I would have thought

Boost controller

I run a APEXI AVCR boost controller.

Regarding the WG, I had a similar turbo before, an had no problem with running higher boost levels. Should you se a drop in boost when the WG opens? Because the boost curve is stable up to 5500 rpm...

not so easy to view deviation then if using apexi..
if you were on stock n75 then you would see a step when actual boost dropped from wastegate opening, as ecu tries to continue to achieve the requested boost.
not possible on apexi. (I dont think)

What duty cycle are you running the Apexi at?

90% is max on apexi tho is'nt it

If you cars mapped to request the same boost as you apexi is set to then yea, you can log it
