Hopefully i will get it on JBS's rollers aswell whilst im there. It would be rude not to:)

Want some ''accurate'' fly figures:)

Will also confirm if this turbo is good for 300+ and if its a good inbetween between k04/IHI

Just booked my car in with JBS for friday 30th november.

Quoted 4hrs to fit at cost of £211.50 inc vat fitted. They will source gaskets/bolts aswell :) So that saves another job of hunting around for part numbers!:funk:

Will just need a 4bar FPR to find now:)

James is off sick as he has broken his leg but he should be back by then to map the car aswell with a CC ph 2 remap. Hopefully get it all done the same day if James has recovered:)

We can possibly see about a little discount on the map also if all 3 of us book in with JBS. I did ask but as James is off sick and Mike couldnt guarantee anything ref discount on map so we will have to ask closer to the time.

Thats if you and WW go down the JBS/CC route. You may fancy something different:)

I think thats a cracking price compared to some of the other quotes flying around. JBS were also the cheapest by far when i had my clutch replaced also, beat all the others by a good £150-200.:)

Thats more like it mate.
JBS have come up trumps here. Decisions decisions. Ain't worth getting hands dirty for that.
Thing is i've only just upgraded to stage 2 APR and am liking it. I know if tweeked it will be fine with V tune. BUT I'll always be woundering what if i customed mapped it.
I think we could get custom remapped for about £250 else where, but if i go to JBS and they offer a good deal it may be too hard to resist. ;)
Plus rollers.
Scotty spill the beans mate.:D

Carl, the only thing aboust CC 2 is its price tag.

£550+vat = £650ish

I would have been able to get jabba for £400ish.

Im not too sure what the mapping would be like with the cheaper based maps? Is it get what you pay for in this game or are these cheap custom maps good enough?

Yes Scotty spill the beans on what youve discovered, we've all been open enough so far;)

Your Right Mitchy, Quality costs. I'm refering to Bell and Ultra map that advertises on here. They may be really good or just another one that uses standard of the shelf maps.
What bothers me is that regardless of the remapping that we get, the boost spike which SIE experienced may not be overcome with mapping and may require a boost controller anyway. Afterall why does Jim from Star use them after he custom maps his turbo projects, i mean i get the impression he's a top Guy.

Not sure Carl, will have to wait and see i suppose. Why do you think its spiking so high? Something to do with spec of turbo or down to mapping?

I wondered the same about boost controllers - I wonder if JBS use them on their BT conversions? Eddy would know...

If they don't need to, it might work out to be a cheaper option?

I'm guessing but it may be because its polished and coated, as soon as it comes on boost the extra speed with which the gases whiz past the compressor wheel and the fact that the wheel is larger than stock will create an inertia and boost level thats too high for what the ECU has been mapped to expect and therefore take a little too long to correct the boost levels back to what the map is requesting. ie its taken by surprise.
Scotty's staying stom at the mo which could trigger a Rolling road face off .:D
Millers at the ready.

Lol:lol:

Yeah scotty is keeping quiet, its either a manifold or an apexi controller i think.

Who you getting to do the fitting then carl? JBS? Or a more local company? Are you in south wales? What about westec?

You going to keep APR like Sie?

I need a new map anyway as when i was initially mapped i didnt have a single mod on the car, now i have a list of them to adapt for so i dont mind getting a re-remap!

I think i'll get some prices locally, but its the hastle with the gaskets etc. £200 ish is quite reasonable and i don't mind travelling.
Paying £500 for a new map is too rich for me, but i'll speak to Jim @ Awesome to see if theres any possible apr upgrades for this setup.
The frustrating thing about the remapping for us is imho i don't think its anything drastic just a few tweaks here and there.
Scotty, SIE and myself are all generic remaps but yours is a custom one which should be very little work for Jabba to adjust. Break Mikes balls and get him to give you a few tweeks. The worst he'll do is abuse you over the phone.

True and good advice, i think jabba were put off the idea due to the fitment aspect.

Im sure Mike will map it if i ask as i am a jabba customer. He did tell me yes, and apart from Scotty telling me otherwise i know no different!

I can phone up, book the car in for a remap. Turn up and let him wonder why the mapping is out so much lol. Only kidding;)

I think ill have another word with him, but still go to JBS for fitting and try jabba later on for mapping! Worth a shot i suppose as £650 is more than i wanted to pay for an additional map!
