Good news lee. When i get the powerflex done i am going to change the topmounts + bearings

Guys I've had my Eibach kit sat in the garage for the past 6 months waiting to be fitted - Muddy I think you may have saved me a few quid :D My question is about these top monts and bearings - oh and also the bump stops.

1. Should I change these top mounts/bearings - my car has 45K
2. Anybody got a price or pt numbers
3. Do I really need to modify these bump stops - Jabba don't bother

I'd deffo change the mounts and bearings at 45k, they don't cost much - far better to do it now than have to strip everything apart again. Also, if you buy new top mounts, bearings and bump stops, it means you can fully assemble the front struts before you go near the car :) (assuming your kit is springs + shocks).

If you've got all the tools and are pretty clued up with a spanner then have a go, but bear in mind the fronts are quite tricky to do. If you need to fork out for tools and spring compressors and are unlikely to use them again, you might be best paying someone to fit the fronts (rears are much easier and don't need many tools). My local garage reckoned around 1 to 1.5 hours labour for the fronts at around £45/hour.

Have a word with Darren in the Willoughby's Seat forum, he'll sort you out with parts and you'll get good discount too :)

Do I need mounts and bearings for the rear as well?

No bearings on the rear (as they don't have to rotate with steering), just mounts.

I didn't change mine, not really sure how you'd know if the rears had gone.
If they're cheap enough it obviously won't hurt to change them, but personally I wouldn't bother...
