Update.

Dealer called and they wanted to change front shock absorbers again under warranty. They installed Cupra Ateca (and many others like Tarraco, Leon, Karoq, Kodiaq, Superb, Octavia, Q2, T-Roc, Tiguan, Arteon, Passat etc.) OE Monroe DCC 3Q0413032 shock absorbers and the noise is gone!
Thanks for the update, I have mine in for its first service on Wednesday with the same problem on the nsf. I haven’t tried pulling fuse #47 yet, see how we go after this next visit.

Very useful information!

This is very good news ! I've just googled part 5WA413032K and it looks as though its a Formentor specific part. That would explain the issue as I couldn't find any other vw group cars with this issue. Whilst its positive that your noise has gone away, has the performance of the dampers changed ? It would seem that your original ones were developed specifically for the Formentor ?

Well, it went in for its first service and they say they couldn’t hear a problem from the front near side suspension, so no fault found is written on the warranty report - I think I have a bit of a battle ahead. They have offered a joint test drive in a couple of weeks time, so maybe have more luck then. In the meantime, if I was to pull fuse #47, does the error message reset once the fuse has been replaced or is this logged permanently into memory?

Almost every dtc is logged and saved, but it will not stay active or current. When I put the fuse back, the error dissapears from the IC.

we have just bought a 74reg cupra leon and after a month started getting knocking noise coming from the front end. its been into our local dealer today and they have wrote it up on a TPI. not fixed it, just said its not dangerous and will have to put up with it until it becomes a recall issue if it actually does get to that stage. its been good to see all the comments about this so it now gives me some information I can use to log a complaint with Cupra Uk.

logged a complaint with Cupra UK about the knocking suspension and they are not going to help us resolve the problem. car is 2 months old FFS! company's dont care about doing the right thing anymore! Looks like going to have to ask for our money back.

Hi,
I don't know if the sound is more like squeaks and creaks. I did have these on my Skoda Superb Estate Mk3 (also DCC equipped). This is a largely spread problem on several models of the VAG Group. I already had it on my Skoda Superb Estate Mk2 (w/o DCC) too formerly.
I found a solution on a Skoda forum last year. I just put marine grease on silent blocks of both front and rear sway bars. It's the most efficient solution, I've ever found. I put this marine grease while I swapped for winter wheels in Fall 2023. It lasted a complet year. Squeaks and creaks only started coming back 2 weeks ago. I've swapped for winter wheels yesterday and I put some marine grease again. This morning I took my Superb Mk3 for a short drive and squeaks and creaks over speed bumps have gone!

My wife's Formetor does not squeaks or creaks over speed bumps at this time 🤞. But if they come. I know what I'll do...

May be worth a try, not an expensive solution. ;)

Could you write what PN shock absorber you installed? Or take a picture?

Do you think I can also ask to mount the same PN to Cupra Leon VZ 310 ST ? 4x4 ?

Because currently at my request cupra service installed me such numbers 5WA413032R, but unfortunately the noise continues but is a little quieter than it was on the original shock absorbers.

Listen to the video on yt that I recorded

@Lork16 Did you disconnect the DCC plug or fuse? Did the noise go away after that?

Regarding the part number, I’m not entirely sure what the "R" or "K" at the end means, and I can’t confirm with certainty whether the 3Q0413032 shock absorbers will fit your car perfectly. However, I believe they should be compatible.

If your car is still under warranty, I’d recommend being persistent with your complaints, whether daily, weekly, or monthly until they address the issue. If they don’t resolve it, you might consider pursuing legal action.

There are plenty of Formentors, Leons, and Golfs with the same problem, but many owners just don’t voice their concerns enough.

On my car, I disconnected the plug from the right shock absorber and did some test drives. Of course, the knocks and rumbles disappeared....

Yes, I have the car under warranty.

The fact that I now have the shock absorbers replaced was a struggle with the aso ie after 6 requests they replaced me with shock absorbers from PN which did not come out factory for the cupra Leon.

I'm going for an inspection in a week and will report again....

Of course, from time to time I write to BOK cupra but without success

What legal forms are you talking about?
