Highest Mileage Mk3 300 4Drive Estate?

Hi guys,

So my time with my 2017 Cupra 300 4Drive Estate is almost up.

I have done 61000 miles in the girl. Never had a single issue that wasnt of my own making! Done many road trips; two to Sweden, 2 to France, 3 to Italy (many many alpine passes :flag::flag::flag:) and Autobahned a number of times (speedometer 152mph max)

Made a bunch of OBD11 mods (seatbelt warning delete, 4 indicator blinks, VIM, fan speed, locking bips, etc) which have all been great and i highly recommend this.

Issues:
  • Aftermarket brakes pads from Pagid and from EBC did not fit correctly on the fronts and i had to go back to OEM. I bought multiple versions from multiple suppliers and the pads were always too small. I don't know why but only OEM fit on the front. Rears were fine and all aftermarket pads fit correctly.
  • 2500RPM Hesitation. I have had a hesitation/flat spot in the engine note/pull since about 40000 miles. At exactly 2500rpm regardless of throttle position there is a noticeable flat spot. It mostly ties in to where the turbo kicks in when driving the car in a normal relaxed manner but this can't be the reason when 'on it'... Unfortunately, 2500rpm is also where the gear changes take place when driving normally so at times this flat spot feels worse than it is. I have been unable to find any other EA888 engines owners with the same issue and other than being annoying doesn't seem to be a problem. It is, however, the reason why i won't be keeping the car beyond the warranty term.
  • Gearbox feels more sluggish. I don't know if this is actually happening but gearchanges feel more sluggish and 'harder'. Probably due to milage and the 6sp dsg was never super smooth to begin with!
So can anyone else beat my MK3 Cupra 4 Drive Mileage?

Cheers!

Did you mean to say 610,000.? I don't find 61,000 miles high for a 3 year old...

Thanks for the heads up regarding pagid pads... . I've always used them on all my cars as I've never had any issues... I don't have the same car as you but do have a mk3 leon... So it may affect me.....was there much price difference in oem against Pagid...?

Yes, only 61000 miles - but in a 4drive cupra i think this is the highest mileage version of that car in the UK. I was one of the first deliveries of the 300 4drive (had it before the dealer had their demo) and seem to have done more miles than any 4drives on autotrader. Just wondering if anyone was as silly as me regarding fuel pump use!

The pads will probably be different as the calipers are much bigger on the Cupra than on the "normal" version.

Yeah, tell me about it!

I stupidly just started doing some basic sums:

61000 miles
350 miles to a tank (optimistic but i do see 350 miles quite often)

174 Fills
@
£65 Tank

£11,310

Don't tell the wife.

Definitely worth it in smiles per hour

I have a 50 mile round trip commute which is almost all at 50mph max due to traffic and lack of overtaking space.

This certainly helps to get near that figure.

Out of curiosity, what does your Cupra show on instantaneous mpg doing a flat 50mph on the motorway? Around the 45mpg ish mark?

I'll check this eve, but it is around that - it moves around so much depending on incline.

Typically on a 25 mile commute one way, if i drive gently it will average 36-38 (from memory)

So the tank can actually take 55litres.

Even if you play gas station bingo and drive on '0' miles of range left, i have done 20miles past this and still only filled 54 litres.

But i get 350 for most tanks and usually fill 51 litres. I think i have reached 400 miles to a tank twice but this is rare.
